I wake up to the extremely loud sound of rock music playing from my phone. With a groan, I smack the screen until it stops. Why did I make that my alarm? After stretching I get some clothes and take a shower to get ready for the first day at a new but still shitty, school. Before getting breakfast I throw on my black and grey hoodie.

"Ready for your first day?" Arthur asks with a cheerful smile as he hands me a plate of waffles and bacon.

"Not really." I shrug as I take some of the bacon.

"Why not?" Tammy asks as they both sit across the island.

"I don't know, maybe it's the fact that it's the middle of the school year and I have to catch up with what the hell these people are doing," I suggest.

"Well, you could always ask someone for help. I'm sure the girl from Saturday would be happy to help." Arthur nods in agreement with his wife.

"I'll be fine doing it by myself." I sigh.

"Okay, we can take you to school if you want. The store doesn't open for another hour." Arthur offers.

"It's fine. I'll just ride the bus." I reply. He nods and I finish my breakfast before grabbing my book bag and putting it over my shoulder. When I get to the bus stop, a few other people are waiting as the sun rises. So I sit on the curb for a few minutes before the bus gets here and everyone gets on. It feels like everyone is staring at me. Like they've never seen anything like me before. It's not like I'm a giant lizard getting on the bus. Stop staring!

Sitting in a random empty seat, I lean against the window. "Who's that?" People whisper behind me.

"She's the new girl. I heard her parents own that weird shop next to the bookstore."

"Really? Why wou-" I grab my phone and listen to music to block out the stupid people acting like I can't hear them. After some time the bus stops and everyone gets off. I pull out my schedule where I wrote down my locker number and start looking for it. When I find the right locker I throw the stuff I don't need into it and keep the rest with me as I go to class.

It's not like I have anyone to hang out with before it actually starts. When I get to the right room I find a seat in the back and put my hood up as I listen to music and play the only game I have on my phone. The class goes by slowly as I do my best to catch up with everything. After the third period, I decide against getting lunch and just sit next to a tree in the courtyard. I start drawing in my sketchbook while people pass me to sit with their friends.

"Hey, I heard there's a new girl. Is it true?" Someone asks his friends at a table.

"Yeah, she's right behind you."

"Don't mess with her though. I heard she started a fire at her old school."

"Really? What a psycho." They keep talking about random events in my life that never happened and I continue to get angrier and angrier as they spread random rumors.

"I also heard that she's a witch. Like with cauldrons and curses and shit."

After another minute of me clenching one of my fists as the other grips my pencil like it's the only thing keeping me from snapping, the pencil snaps, and the juices on all three of the kids' treys explode, sending the juice onto their clothes and all over the table as they look around confused.

I close my sketchbook and grab my bag before I walk away from the scene. Walking through the hallway I end up in the cafeteria. I sit at an empty table away from people and listen to music as I sigh and put my head on my sketchbook, on the table. This place sucks. And what the hell was that?! Juice exploded out of nowhere!
