Reports and Interrogations

"Kat, just tell me what happened to you" Nat ordered, I sighed and put my earbuds into my ears, blasting out heavy rock music.

Natasha hadn't stopped questioning me about what happened to me after I jumped out of the plane. I really wasn't in the mood for interrogation right now, especially since there was an actual interrogation going on in five minutes and we were all expected to be in the meeting room for our next orders.

I'd been stitched up by the nurse a few hours ago, being told that I was lucky that no more blood had seeped through otherwise I'd have to have an immediate transfusion. It had been hard enough to sit through being stitched up but sitting and having a transfusion? Forget it. No way was I going to go through that again.

Nat pulled out my earbuds, much to my annoyance. About to demand why she did that, she pointed to JJ coming in with a pale face and a stack of paperwork. He avoided my eyes as he sat at his desk, hunching over and shuffling through it like a madman. Frowning, I glanced at Nat in question, she shrugged and sat back with her legs crossed over.

"JJ? Come in, Agent JJ" I spoke through the intercom, hoping that JJ would talk to me that way. No response. I didn't understand it- why was JJ so quiet all of a sudden? And why did it feel like he was scared of me?

Deciding that a direct approach would be more tactful, I got up to go over to him. JJ's eyes darted over to see me getting up to move towards him, and to my utter surprise, he grabbed his stuff and hurried on to his quarters. To say that I was hurt was the understatement of the century.

JJ had had been my best friend, besides Natasha, on this Helicarrier. Now he was acting like I was a total stranger or something. Hanging my head, I sat back down again and played absently with a ball point pen I had been doodling with in the clinic to keep my mind off of the stitches.

Bruce walked in a moment after JJ had fled. His chocolate eyes surveyed the room before settling on me, his eyebrows drew together in concern.

"You okay?" he mouthed; I tilted my head slightly then shook it. I didn't see any point in lying to a guy that seemed nerved by everyone with guns and knives. Not to mention that he probably had a second nature lying detector up his sleeve. Bruce sat down beside me. He subtly took my hand in his and squeezed it reassuringly and I knew, just then, that we were going to be the best of friends like me and Nat was.

As the projector slid down so we could watch Fury lay down the set of rules for Loki, I smiled kindly at Bruce to let him know that he had my gratitude.
Fury came up on the camera, walking to the control panel. The speakers grated on my ears when he spoke, but I did my best to act like they didn't bother me- I sincerely doubt anyone was even bothered if they were hurting me or not.

"In case it's unclear, you try to escape, you so much as scratch that glass." Fury pressed the button on the control panel, the air compressor shaft opening. My lips twitched into a small smile as Loki looked down into it, seemingly unimpressed but acting impressed. It appeared that I wasn't the only one that was uninterested in Fury's threats. By Loki's face, I could tell that he had heard it and seen it all before.

"Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap." Fury shouted over the wind. He closed the air shaft and looked at Loki as he talked.

"You get how that works?" he asked.

Loki didn't answer, his hands clasped behind his back and was taunting Fury with a smile.

"Ant." Fury gestured to Loki then to the panel, "Boot."

I rolled my eyes and felt Bruce tensing up beside me as he eyed the cell. Immediately I felt sympathy for him.

The cell that Loki was occupying had had been made for him whenever he was a threat for when the Hulk was impending underneath the surface.
Shifting my chair closer to Bruce, I leaned my body into him as an awkward sort of embrace. Something flickered in Bruce's eyes. Before I could dismantle what it was, it was gone. Shrugging it off, I turned my focus back to the screen. Loki took a few strides back, smirking.
