?'s POV:
The sounds of the festival are easy to listen to from here. Its quite peaceful if you ask me. I turn to look at the lanterns floating towards the moon as they light up the sky. It truly is beautiful. I stand up on the roof, looking down at the burning city of lights. All the things i've done, the little things that have made me who i am, are slowly fading from my memory. I cant remember how i got here, or anything about my family. The only thing i remember was a shadowed figure, heading towards the end just as i am now. I take off my shoes and let my hair blow in the wind as i step onto the ledge of the roof. It's a beautiful day outside, is it not? I take a final breath before jumping into the lights...
But i felt something grab my arm before i could.
The figure behind me seemed sad, they were holding onto my arm as tight as they could as my body was dangling off the roof, My arm is the only thing thats holding me between two worlds. They wont let go. They lift me back onto the roof and pull me into a warm embrace, Tears running down their face.
"Please don't leave me, Not again." They looked at me, with that sad face. Why would they worry? Why didn't they let me go? "Im sorry, Chinami" I apologized. I got up and walked away.
Chinami's POV:
I was wandering around the laboratory since there was nothing else to do, when i saw one of my comrades walking upstairs. "Tokeru?" I tried to get her attention, but she didn't seem to hear me. She kept walking, Her kimono gliding behind her. I decided to follow her to try and get her attention and ask where she's going. Once we got to the roof, She started muttering to herself. Once she stepped onto the ledge of the roof, Thats when i realized what she was trying to do. I quickly grab her arm as she jumped into the lights. She looked at me, Her Kabuki mask had fallen off and she stared at me with no emotion whatsoever. I pulled her back onto the roof and hugged her to try and give comfort, crying as i buried my face in her shoulder. "Please don't leave me, Not again.." I looked at her, tears still filled my eyes. "I'm sorry, Chinami." She looked at me then got up and walked away. I decided to go back downstairs and ask the others if they know what happened. 13, A siren, Was fighting with Akina, a demon hybrid, again. Akihiro, a humanoid bat, was practicing her fighting technique, and most of the others were being tested on at the moment. I decided to break up the fighting, taking out my sword as black flame-like markings surrounded my body. I walked up to the fighting and pushed the sword into the ground between them. 13 and Akina just looked at me like i was stupid, and i asked them to stop fighting. "Cant you guys just get along?" I asked them both. They looked at each other then back at me. "Well she started it" They said in unison. Akihiro was laughing in the corner at their response and the annoyed look on my face. "Do you have any idea why Tokeru tried to end her life a few minutes ago?" They all stopped what they were doing and looked at me in shock. "She did what?" Akihiro had gotten up. "Yeah i found her on the roof and had luckily gotten there in time. She walked back toward her cell." I told them. 13 had gotten up as well. "Well i will go check on her." 13 then escaped the cell with ease, heading to check on Tokeru. Akina looked at everyone. "If she gets caught, Im not saving her again. Its a pain in the ass y'know." Akihiro sighed and looked at Akina. "Then i will." I just stood there listening to the conversation not realizing i spaced out. Akihiro pokes me in the arm. "Earth to chinami, you alright?" I flinched out of reflex and looked at her. "Oh yeah sorry about that" I laughed. She smiled and walked back to her cell.
13's POV:
I quickly snuck past the security cameras, and I entered Tokeru's cell to find her asleep on the ground. I sighed in relief and sat next to her. "What are you doing here?" I heard her say and i jumped. "Oh your awake. I just came here to check on you." I said then sat back down next to her. "Why?" She looked at me through her kabuki mask. I could see her eyes, they were dim. "Because i heard you tried to cross to the other side earlier. I wanted to ask why" I looked down sighing. Tokeru just sat there staring at me, as if i was a ghost. "That isn't your concern. Don't worry about me." She got up and walked away. I wanted to chase after her but my damn legs wouldn't move. "Tokeru, wait." She stopped. Thank god that worked. She turned around and looked at me. "What?" I had to think fast. This could end in two ways, She could leave the lab and get killed or she could kill me for stopping her. "Is there anything you want to talk about?" I asked. ".......No." She responded. I sighed. "The others are pretty worried about you y'know." "They are?" "Yeah." She looked at the ground. "If they were really worried, They'd have done something." I started to get irritated. "Then why the hell do you think I came after you?" She went quiet. We both didn't say anything for a solid 5 minutes until she spoke up. "I'm sorry." Her voice started to break and you could see a few tears dripping from underneath her kabuki mask. "It's alright. I'm just as worried as the others. We want to know what happened so we can help you." She took off her kabuki mask to wipe her tears. "I guess i should tell all of you at once then." She walked back to Akina's cell where everyone else was at. I let out a sigh of relief and followed her back.
