"Welcome, welcome," Dumbledore's voice rang through the Great Hall. The students quickly quieted down, all focusing on him. "We will all be welcoming a new student tonight at dinner. She will be sorted into her house and I hope you all would do well to welcome her to Hogwarts."

Whispers filled the Great Hall, the students were confused. "Is someone even allowed to start in the middle of the year?" A student questioned.

"It's never been allowed before," a young girl with atrocious hair replied. She was petite and her hair most likely made up half of her weight.

I sighed, looking among the crowd of people. How could I deal with so many annoying students? How did my father expect me not to snap?

My arms were crossed as I stood at the entrance of the Great Hall, knowing no one had noticed my presence. "Quiet," Dumbledore exclaimed. "She is Professor Snape's daughter!"

His confession seemed to cause them to become louder. "We will all meet Scarlett tonight, please go to your dorms and get cleaned up!"

I moved out of the way as several students rushed out of the Great Hall as others took their time leaving. A few students made eye contact with me, quickly leaning to their friends to point at me. I leaned against the wall, my arms still folded over my chest while they passed me. I followed the large group down the hallway until I got to Snape's office.  "Scarlett," he greeted.

I eyed him, "Hello, Snape."

"Are you ready for tonight?"

I sat in a chair across from him, watching him as he shuffled through a book. He glanced up to me when I didn't answer.

"Scarlett?" Snape called.

"Why did my father send me here?" I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

He looked at me for a moment before speaking. "To keep you safe, of course. No one will suspect you here, especially when they all think you are my daughter."

I rolled my eyes, "I suppose daddy's lucky I look like my mother."

Snape stayed silent, continuing to rummage through pages. "What do I have to do to stay hidden?" I asked him, sitting up straight in my seat. "I know daddy doesn't want anyone to slip up about him until he is at full health."

Snape closed his book, giving me his full attention. "Just don't tell anyone he is your father. There are plenty of evil brats here to help prevent anyone from realizing who you are. You'll be perfectly fine but if you can, avoid getting into trouble."

I furrowed my brows, "How do you expect me to do that? It's literally in my blood to get into trouble."

Snape's expression became serious, "You will if you do not want disciplined from your father when he returns."

I sighed, standing, "Fine, I will try my best to behave."

Severus stood as well, "Go get ready for your Sorting, Scarlett. Dress nicely."

I nodded my head, leaving the office. I walked down the lonely hallways, watching as the pictures moved. Women stood in gardens and men in offices. I created a protal to Spinner's End. I walked into Snapes home, walking up the stairs to the room I had been staying in. Quickly changing into a sweater and a dark skirt, I combed through my hair and reapplied my makeup.

I looked in the mirror, happy with my appearance. I created a portal once more to go back to Hogwarts. Walking down the hallway once again, my heels clicked on the stone path. The hallway was silent as I walked toward the Great Hall. As I came closer, I could hear the sound of laughter and conversation. I grimanced at the sound. I made my way through the doorway, not making eye contact with a single witch, wizard, or goblin.
