Chapter One

*Madison's POV*

My alarm clock rings and I stretch over to turn it off. I have a very busy day today. I sit up and rub my eyes. I look at my hands which are now dirty due to my leftover eyeliner. I groan and get up. I lean over my bed and reach under my pillow.

"Found ya." I mumble, I grasp my vape in my hand and take a couple hits. I live for the morning head rushes I get. It's the only time I feel anything. I head to the bathroom and turn on the shower. I start to get undressed.

I look down and see the hickeys on my stomach. "Where the fuck was I last night." Oh that's right. I was at that kid Cedric's house. My mirror starts to fog up and I walk to the shower. I step in and let the hot water hit my face. I reach my hand out to play music on my phone. I play "Pluto Projector, by Rex Orange County" I close my eyes. I never want to get out.

I wash my hair and shave. I turn the water cold for a few seconds to wake me up. I turn the water off and step out. The cold air giving me goosebumps. I grab a towel and walk over to the mirror. I wipe the glass and sit there for a minute. My green eyes have dark circles under them. I look dead. I rub my face and grab a toothbrush.

I brush my teeth, wash my face, and go back into my room. I open my closet. What should I wear today. I grab some fishnets, a plaid tennis skirt, some Doc Martins, and a white button up. I get dressed and head downstairs.

"Good morning baby!" My mum yells. She's in the kitchen cooking what smells like bacon.

"Morning mama." I walk up and give her a kiss of the cheek. "I'm going to go put some makeup on and then I'll have breakfast with you okay?" I say.

"Sounds good darling." She gives me a quick little side hug and I run upstairs. I put on some mascara and eyeliner, add a little bit of blush, highlighter, and some lipgloss. I check my curly hair. I scrunch it some.

"Eh it'll do." I say walking over to my dresser. I spray on some cologne and walk downstairs again. My mum cooked up some bacon, eggs, and biscuts. I sit down and take a couple bites.

"How is it?" She asks. Her green eyes piercing into the deepest parts of my soul.

"It's delicious mum. I gotta go meet Kathy and David. Is that okay?" I ask.

"Yes of course, see you're friends before you leave." She says with a smile.

I get up and walk down the steps. I look back at my house. Its a huge black mansion, surrounded by forest. I walk out to the stable before I leave.

"Hello Mercedes." I say to my horse. She's beautiful. Black with the kindest eyes. She neighs at me. I give her some pets and a homemade cookie. I walk out and I see Kathy's teal van waiting on the gravel. I run up to the car and I see Kathy jamming to music while David's sitting there with an annoyed look on his face.

"Sup bitchessss!" I say smiling.

"Hey baby!" Kathy and David say at the same time. They've been dating since the 6th grade. Now they're juniors at our local high school. I hop in and some hard metal is blasting.

We drive around for hours. Windows down, with our favorite songs playing. Time passes and it's almost 4.

"You guys I gotta be back at 4:30!" I yell over the music.

"Fiiine!" Kathy yells. We start to drive home. Next thing I knew we were pulling up to the driveway. I kissed both of them on the cheek, and ran inside. I packed my bags. ate dinner with my mum, said goodbye to Mercedes, and got ready to leave my home for a year.

"Be safe!", My mother yells as I run down the steps.

"I will mom!" I yell back.

Today is my first day at Hogwarts. I run onto the sidewalk and catch the bus just in time.
