"life is pure adventure, and the sooner we realize that,
the quicker we will be able to treat life as art."

SENSIBILITY. COMMITMENT. INTEGRITY. KNOWLEDGE.
The last pillar was the most ironic. Welton Academy was not about learning for learning's sake.
It was about competition.
"Top of the class, or don't even bother."
It was about status.
"Your daughter is a Welton girl? You must be so proud."
Expectations from the school and parents; be who they want you to be. No free time; if you're not busy 24/7, then what are you doing with your life? And don't even think of following your passions. Poetry, art, drama? Time can be better spent.
Navya Parekh and her friends were familiar with all this -- because this was their every day.
At the start of each year, they would meet in one of their dorms after the back to school assembly. Pouring shots of whiskey, the girls would raise their cups in unison and say:
"STUPIDITY! CONFORMITY! IGNORANCE! NONSENSE!"
Yet, their rebellious desires remain amongst each other. Outside, they keep to who they are supposed to be. Good daughters and even better students.
When junior year starts, things start to change. Navya is paired with a new roommate, Tara Akana, and Navya welcomes her into the group.
Even more exciting, there's also a new English teacher, who inspires the girls to follow their passions. To love themselves and others authentically. To break the rules. To embrace who they are or become who they want to be. To live their truths.
