Shawn POV
Since dating Beyonce I haven't kissed, touched, fucked or even slept in the same room as Cassie. I don't know why she don't wanna divorce me because we're basically separated but not on paper.
On the plus side, I'm just over the moon that I'm gonna be a father. The problem I'm going to have is that Bey doesn't want me anywhere near her. I just want to be with her and share this experience with her.
"Cassie! Cassie!" I called out her name as I roamed around the house. "Where is her ass?" I said to myself as I made it to the backyard. "Cassie!" I called out again. "Cass-"
"Oh my gosh! Damn nigga," I heard Cassie. I then saw her emerge from the garden looking really pissed. "Why your ass loud anyways? Damn," she snarled with her hand on her hip.
"Come here," I said going to sit on the picnic table. I heard her sucking her teeth as she followed me. We sat across from each other and I placed an envelope on the table.
"The hell this is?" She asked pointing at the envelope.
"Divorce papers," I said. "I want you to-"
"I ain't signing nothing," she crossed her arms.
I sighed. "Why? Why don't you wanna sign them?" I asked and she just stared at me. "You're starting to piss me off now. You knew that this marriage was doomed from the beginning. I just don't get it. Why build something that wasn't even there from the get go? We're just-"
"I don't wanna become a nobody okay?!" She chimed in. She took in a deep breath. "I have nothing Shawn and I'm a nobody. You have your thing going and I don't even have a job," she croaked as her eyes became glossy.
This is a first to me. I didn't know that she felt like that.
"What do you mean? You went to culinary school, that should count as something," I said trying to lighten up the mood. She wiped her tears and gave me the 'really?' look.
"When I reflect back on my life, I realize that I've literally done nothing and its disheartening. I know this is gonna sound wrong but its true, this marriage has made me feel like a somebody. I get to go to prestigious events and everybody knows 'Shawn's wife'. I know that using you to be known is wrong but what can I do?" She shrugged.
"You can be more than just 'Shawn's wife' Cassie," I said. "You are an amazing and a strong woman. You are a bad ass woman and living in someone else's shadow ain't your calling."
She shook her head. "You're just saying that," she lowly said.
I shook my head and held her hands from across the table. "If you just stop looking down on yourself you can achieve a lot more than you think. I believe in you Cassie. Sure you're a pain in the ass, you talk too much, you can become real mean and bossy at times, you-"
"Shawn," she warned as she glared at me.
"Sorry. Lost my trail of thought for a second there," I said. "Bottom line is, what do you wanna do in life?"
She sighed then a smile crept up her lips. "I've always wanted to own my own restaurant. Just do something in the culinary world, yah know?"
"Done," I said.
"Say what now," she raised her eyebrow at me.
"They are selling that fancy ass restaurant you like dragging my ass to. I'll buy it for you," I said.
"That's nice and all but I'm no charity-"
"Take it as a loan. You'll pay me back."
She smiled at me. "You really think I can do it?" she said.
"I know you can," I reassured her.
She nodded her head as she smiled. "Aight then. Its kinda scary but I'm willing to push through my fear and fulfill my dreams. Give me the divorce papers," she said and I handed her the papers and a pen. "Damn, your ass was prepared," she said. I gave her the time to read through the papers.
I am not heartless, I made sure that Cassie got something seeing that I'm working and I can earn back the money and all of the assets.
"You get to keep the house and all of your cars too," I stated. She then handed the papers back to me. "I'll move out as soon as I can."
"Mkay my ex-husband," she then chuckled. "You're a good guy Shawnny-poo," she pouted. "Gimme a hug my fellow ex-hubby."
I playfully rolled my eyes as I stood up and met her halfway. Honestly, this is by far the most odd relationship I had. Its not everyday a breaking up couple leaves on good terms.
"You know I hate that nickname," I said hugging her.
She broke the hug and smiled at me. "I know. Sorry if I fucked things up with your girlfriend."
"Don't worry about her. Imma fight for her," I said. "Are you seeing anyone?"
"I am," she said and I raised my brow at her. "Don't be giving me that look boy," she mushed my face. "Her and I are just-"
"Her?"
She gave me that 'I said what I said' look. "Did I stutter? You ain't the only one with a girlfriend."
I narrowed my eyes at her. "So you one of them alphabet folks?" I put my hands in my front pockets.
"Alphabet folks? What are those?" She asked clearly confused.
"You know the 'LGBTUVW-blah blah blah' community," I said and she hit me upside the head hard. "Ow!"
"Don't you ever dis that community. We gonna come for your ass and jump you," she walked away and went back to the garden. "For your information, I'm bisexual!" I heard and I just chuckled.
Pertaining the divorce papers, I have a number of connections which will make finalizing the divorce easy. People talk about rough divorces, I guess Cassie and I are gonna be counted amongst the few who had it easy.
Beyonce POV
"Hey Ashley. Wanna go out for ice-cream?" I asked joyfully as I walked in her room and straddled her feet like a little kid.
She looked away from her phone and groaned as she sat up. "Ugh, Bey its like eight thirty at night," she said.
"So, yes?" I smiled hella hard and she rolled her eyes at me. I went closer to her until I straddled her lap. "Let's go Ashley," I said as I buried my face in the crook of her neck.
"This baby is making you crave some weird shit. You don't even like ice-cream," she rubbed my back. "Get your pregnant ass off me and go get dressed."
My face lit up as I moved my face and stared at her with a grin. "We're going?"
"You didn't give me any choice," she shrugged.
Ashley POV
We decided to take my car and then go scavenging for open ice-cream shops or at least shops that sell ice-cream for Beyonce's craving.
We finally got our ice-cream. I went for simple strawberry and Beyonce had a chocolate chip ice-cream with rainbow sprinkles and gummy bears. We had our ice-cream in the car and Beyonce was so happy when she was having hers. After that we pushed back the seats and laid back in comfortable silence.
"Ash?" I heard after a while of silence.
I turned and looked at Bey who was staring up into space. "Yes Bey."
"Do you think I'm going to be a good mother?" She asked as she turned and looked at me.
"Bey, you're going to be an amazing mother. Don't sweat it, you have me and your family to help you and support you throughout okay?" I held her hand.
"I miss Shawn real bad. I don't wanna go through this pregnancy alone. I know I told him to back off but now I regret telling him that. I just want him to kiss me and hold me tight but I can't get that because he already belongs to someone else," she was on the verge of tears. "I guess I can't always get what I want," she shrugged. "Let's go home. My baby and I are sleepy."
"Mkay," I said pulling up my car seat and I started the car.
