*****
I woke up to blinding bright lights and a loud beeping noise. Someone was holding my hand.
"Cassy? Are you okay? How are you feeling? Did I do this? I could never hurt anyone bad enough for this."
"Chris would you shut up. She's been in a coma, the first thing she hears should definitely not be your voice."I squeezed the hand that was holding mine.
"Cassy, baby, can you open your eyes for me please."
I opened them to see that it was Morgan's hand holding mine.
"There are those beautiful eyes I love so much," Morgan said as he stroked my hand with his thumb.
"W- w- what h- happened to me?" I whispered.
"You were in a coma for a couple of weeks sweetheart."
"A couple of weeks?! Try 2 months! Don't lie to my girlfriend!!" The voice sounded like it belonged to Chris but I couldn't see him. I tried to sit up to see."Baby, don't move too fast." Morgan put his hand behind my back for support.
I could see Morgan sitting on a chair next to the bed and Chris by the door with his arms crossed. He looked pissed.
"Chris go tell the nurses that she's awake, please." Morgan watched Chris leave before turning to me.
"How are you feeling baby?"
"I've been better, where's my mom?"Before Morgan got the chance to answer a nurse came into the room, Chris was behind her.
"Hi honey, my name is Katrina. How are you feeling?"
"I'm alright I guess."
"Okay well I'm just going to check you over to make sure you're all right but if everything goes well you should be able to go home tomorrow."
"Okay."
"I'll need you two to leave so I can do this," Katrina told Chris and Morgan.Chris turned around and left promptly. I thought Morgan was leaving but he pulled the blinds so all the windows were covered before returning to the chair next to my bed.
"I'm not going anywhere, baby girl." He picked up my hand and kissed the back of it.
.....
After the nurse cleared me to go home tomorrow she started walking toward the door when she got to it she turned and looked at me.
"Do you want me to tell your friend he can come back or do you want to be alone with your boyfriend?"
"We're just friends," Morgan answered. "But I'll go get Chris later."Katrina turned back toward the door and left.
"I'm so glad that you're okay, beautiful. I've missed you. I haven't left your bedside in the last 2 months."
I patted the bed to motion for him to come and sit with me. Morgan climbed on the bed and laid beside me he opened his arms like he wanted a hug and I snuggled between them. I don't know how long we stayed this way, but the door swung open after a while. A very angry Chris stormed in. What he saw definitely didn't help his anger.
"Why didn't you come to get me when the nurse left!" Chris screamed at Morgan.
"Calm down. Cassy just woke up from a coma, she really doesn't need this right now. And if you would've stayed you would've known when the nurse left." Morgan fought back.
"Morgan, honey, could you go get me a tea please, I can deal with him."
"No! I'm not going anywhere and I'm definitely not leaving you alone with this prick!"
"Baby, please."
"Fine. but I'll be right back." Morgan reluctantly got up and left.Chris strolled over to my bed and sat next to me.
"Hey, beautiful." He said as he moved a piece of hair out of my face and placed it behind my ear. I began shaking.
"Why are you scared of me! I'm your boyfriend!" Chris slapped me across my face. As I reached up to grab my face where he hit me Morgan walked through the door.*****
"OUT!" He yelled at Chris.
"I'm not going anywhere!" Morgan passed me my tea and pulled out his phone.
"Who are you calling?" I asked before sipping on my tea.
"The police. You're filing an assault charge on him."
"No! Morgan! This is all a misunderstanding."
