Chapter 2
Then finally lunch came around. I walked into the lunchroom and saw Danielle. I waved to her and we sat next to each other. “Well looks like someone is in a great mood today,” Danielle said. I smiled “Yeah, well let’s say there is this really cute guy in my math class!” I squealed a little. Danielle grinned a little, “So who is he? I must know!! Give me all the juicy details!” She squealed a little as well. We both giggled as we saw him coming towards me “Hi, Tina” Casey said, as he held his tray “May I join you guys?” He asked as he started to put his tray down. “Yeah, go ahead” I smiled then blushed a little before looking at Danielle. Danielle looked at him then back at me then pointed at him. I nodded a little before Danielle gave me a thumbs up. I laughed a little. “Um, you know what, I’m going to my history class. I’m so sorry Tina and a random boy who’s name I don’t know.” Danielle said as she got out of her chair and made her way to another table in the cafeteria so she doesn’t get seen. Casey then looked at me before looking back at his food. “She’s a friend?” He asked. “Yeah, that’s Danielle Jones, my best friend.” he nodded before taking a bite of some french fries. “So Casey, why did you want to sit over here?” I ask. “Well, I don’t really know anyone here and you are the first person I have met. I forgot to mention I was new at this school” he said. I smiled a little “So where are you from?” “New Jersey my father and I moved down here over the summer and my father got a job over at the school as the soccer coach.” He said. “Oh, do you play any sports?” “Yeah, I play soccer and that is about it. I also play the piano” He said as he started eating the cheeseburger. “Wow, that’s amazing. I play the violin” I said. “Wow! The violin! That is awesome! Do you do orchestra?” “Yes I do! It is tons of fun.” I say to him, smiling. He smiled back a little. “Do you have science later on today?” He asks me. “Yes I do, 5th period” “Same here!” We both laughed and smiled as we realized we have the same science classes together. “Is there anything else you want to talk about? To get to know each other a little better?” I ask. “Sure, well I’m an only child and my mother left me when I was 5 years old.” He said, sounding upset. I felt pretty bad for Casey. He already trusts me to the point where he can tell me his tragic backstory. “Well, if it makes you feel any better. I’m an only child as well” I said. Casey looked back at me and smiled a little. “Wow, we have so much in common that it's unbelievable,” He said, looking a little flustered. I blushed a little before asking him another question “How long have you had braces and glasses?” “Oh well, I have had braces since my freshman year of high school and I had glasses since I was 6 years old. What about you?” he asked. “I had braces since I was in 7th grade, they were on and off, and I’ve had glasses since I was 10 years old.” I smiled. He nodded before the bell rang and it was time for my fourth period. “I’ll see you around?” Casey said, waving at me. I nodded and waved at him back. I feel so much adrenaline going in my body, my heart is pumping so fast. I might actually be in love with him. But I don’t think he likes me back. It’s only the first day, so who knows what is going to happen. I really want to love him! I can just see us being boyfriend and girlfriend, holding hands, kissing, doing dating things. Hopefully he is not toxic like Lance. If he is, then I would probably never be the same again.
