Marinette was first introduced to her Italian cousin, Lillian Rossi, who prefers to be called by her nickname, Lila. At first both would never look at each other, both for various reasons, Marinette because she was shy, while Lila, well she already despised her, due to her cousin having a wonderful relationship with her parents. Due to this tension, all adults did one thing they could agree on, push them towards the playground.

Both Lila and Marinette were quite upset with their parents decision, but decided to follow along. Marinette ran ahead towards the slides and swings, while Lila just stood there, unable to comprehend the massive playset that was in front of her. Back in her home, she never was allowed to go to playgrounds, so this was new to her. Marinette realised that her new cousin wasn't with her, she turned to find the brunette standing awkwardly, while staring at the playground.

Figuring out that, she never been to a play park, she ran back towards the Italian girl. Lila was brought back from her thoughts, as her blunette cousin, tapped her on the shoulder. Looking over to her cousin, the brunette saw that Marinette's hand was outstretched as if it were asking her to trust her. Lila looked back up to the smiling bluenette, then back towards the outstretched hand. The Italian was at first wary but then thought, 'why not give it a shot,' with that she placed her hand on the bluenette's and let Marinette drag her towards a fun day.

Meanwhile, the two children's parents, both watched them with watchful eyes, a smile dawning on all three adults faces. "I know it was a change of scenery for my child. You know after the divorce, I thought she would change, but seeing her with your daughter, brings it to a new light," Nicole said glancing at the kids. Sabine smiled sympathetically at her, "We know, just don't upset yourself over it, Nico." Lila's mother looked at the couple with a watery smile plastered on her face, she then turned to look at the children.

Lila would never admit it, but this was the first time, after moving form Italy, she felt free, happy and not trapped in her room, when her parents fought at night. The brunette then stopped running after Marinette, she fell to the floor, hands covering her face as she cried silently. She remembered, their fights, when vases were thrown, her mother crying as she packed their bags. She remembered that her father never glanced at their direction as they left the house, how he never gave her one last hug. Lila didn't seem to realise that she was full on crying when she felt someone wrap their arms around her shaking body. 

Marinette realised that Lila was not behind her, turning around she spotted the girl crying on the ground, without thinking of going to get their parents, she ran to the upset girl and warped her in a hug. Mari felt that the girl she hug stiffen at the contact, but before she could pull back, Lila fell into the embrace, crying on her shoulder soaking then blunette's new dress. All Marinette could do was hold the crying girl in her arms, patting her head in a soothing motion. 

Both girls heard footsteps approach them as they stayed in that position. Marinette looked up and saw her Aunt running towards, slowly glancing down at the crying brunette, Mari loosened the hug, waiting for her cousin's mother to come a hug her. Lila felt vulnerable, pathetic, she felt like she ruined the day. She felt her cousin pull away from the hug, before she could look up a new feeling of warmth enveloped her, motherly warmth. She cried into the new embrace, she felt as if her whole world was crumbling when her mother and father divorced, but now she felt loved and wanted.
