"Hello Artemis. It's good to see you again."
"But how are you even here? This is an entirely different world," I ask.
"'How' is not important. Sam and Dean will need you now more than ever. There is something coming. Something that only you and Sam together can defeat."
"I'm sorry, Mary. It's not possible for me to return home. Stefan, here, called in a few favors with some witches that he trusts. They have no idea how to return me to Sam and Dean," I say sadly.
"Go to Mystic Falls. There is a witch, who goes by the name of 'Bonnie Bennett'. She derives from a very long line of powerful witches. She is the only one with enough power to send you home."
"Look, I miss Sam and Dean. More than anything. I'd like nothing more than to see them again. Laugh with them, hunt with them. You have no idea how much I want that. But I seriously doubt that this 'Bonnie' will help me."
"You must try. Sam and Dean will need you. If you are not there to help, then they are as good as dead. Please, Artemis."
"Ok, Mary. I'll try, I promise."
Mary gives me a relieved look.
"Good luck, my dear."
Just like that, Mary's spirit flickers, then vanishes.
"Mmm, that's something I haven't seen for a while," I comment.
"So I guess we're going to Mystic Falls, huh?" Stefan asks quietly.
"Stefan, you don't have to go. I can do this on my own."
"No, I'll, uh, I'll go. It's actually where we were gonna go anyway. Guess Mary beat me to the punch," he tells me sheepishly.
"Well, ready or not, Mystic Falls, here we come," I smirk.
We pack our cars full of our stuff, then leave New York City in our review mirrors. After driving God-knows-how-many hours, we finally reach Mystic Falls, Virginia.
Stefan and I step out of our cars in front of an old, but gorgeous house.
"Wow, Stef, this is even more beautiful than you made it out to be," I comment in awe.
"Let's just hope that Zach will let us stay here," he replies darkly.
"Does he...does he know about us? I mean our 'other sides'?"
"Yes. But we can trust him. I'm just worried that he won't trust us."
I give him a half worried/half cautious look as he knocks with a determined face. Footsteps alert us that someone was just behind the door. I quickly mask my worry and apply a friendly smile to my lips. The door opens to reveal a young-ish man with dark, sandy hair.
"Uncle Stefan," he says with wide eyes.
"Hey, Zach."
Zach's eyes flash towards me.
"Hi, Zach. My name's Artemis."
"Hello," he greets warily.
"What do you want, Uncle Stefan?"
"Can we come in? "
Zach nods slowly before saying, "Come in."
Zach closes the door behind us, then we follow him to the living room. Stefan and Zach sit on couches opposite of each other. I perch on the arm of Stefan's, so Zach won't be so tense.
"Why are you here? Why come back after all these years?" Zach starts.
"We were hoping you would let us stay here for a while. I have some business here and your name popped up in the conversation. A plus B equals..." I say.
