I am going to die in two weeks, that is what everyone says.
They always say two weeks, two weeks to live, two weeks of food rations, two weeks of air tanks. No one really knows why they use the number 2 for everything. All we know is once those two weeks are up we are told once again that there is only two weeks left for us to live.
Ever since I was born my life has involved the number two in almost every decision. That's how things work here, here being the Galactica Aerospace model 7 (simply known as GA7). Everything has to do with the number 2: families can only have two children, each child must be born 2 or a number divisible by 2 years/months/days apart.
Apparently, it has to do with what the captains of the GA7 believe, they call it the duality of harmony. On earth the perfect family was two kids. I think they just want to keep the population in control, the GA7 is only the size of what was formerly known as Brazil on earth, i say formerly as it was buried with the rising sea levels or the earthquakes that made earth inhabitable for humanity, or that's what i've been taught. We've all been taught the same thing. Climate change became too powerful for humanity to stop it so they began to look at the only other place they could live. Which was space.
I am the first generation born on the GA7, we are called the genesis generation. We will never look back at earth again.
