NEIGHBOR
I was sitting on my porch
he carried a box
inside to the house
that was next door.
He saw me and waved
and I forced a smile.
my parents made me
take him a welcome basket.
I gave it to his mum
and said it was for the family
because I didn't want it to
be for him.
