Spike (POV)

After placing a comforting hand on my arm she turns, walking towards her building. Picking him up bridal style I carry him to the car.

After making sure he safely buckled up I race straight to the hospital. Throughout the ride, he would regain and lose consciousness and I couldn't help the strings that pulled at my heart.

When we reach the hospital, he's immediately taken from me by the doctors and nurses. Letting out a breath I didn't even know I was holding I go to fill out the paper work. I don't know much about him so I just put my details. I don't even know his actual name, so I put the name I used to call him by,  Lex.

Despite my nerves I calm myself down and sit in the uncomfortable chair. I hate hospitals, personally I think they make patients feel worst and depressed. My point is backed up by the bare white walls surrounding the waiting area. There is one tv screen showing the news in the corner of the room, and a water cooler opposite me but other than that, the identical blue chairs and white tiled floors, would be enough to send anyone off their rockers if they stayed long enough.

After about an hour a nurse comes out from the double doors at the end of the long hallway. "Are you here for Lex?" she asks when I stand. No shit, I came with him didn't I?

"Yes." I respond in a bitter tone, while she checks her clip board.

"Ok, well he's stable and doing just fine, but I have to ask. What is your relationship with the patient?"

Shaking my head, I look at her with agitation. "Well, as it says on the form that I already filled out, I'm his brother."

"Do you know anything of his injuries?" Injuries? Isn't it just his ribs? There's more?

"I just came back from working overseas today. What injuries does he have?"

"He's got multiple minor bruises on his chest area, his arms, his neck and lower torso. His ribs looks like its the most resent, there's a slight fracture. Also, he is very malnourished.  May I ask about his home life?"

"I'm pretty sure he lives with hi-our dad. Why?"

"Since, it's protocol we had to do a full check.  But we'll patch him up the best we can."  poor thing."

"When can I see him?"

"You can see him now, but he is resting."

As she turned a way I follow her closely to his room.

Sitting in the chair next to his I grasp his hands in mine, taking comfort in how perfectly they mold together. His long lashes rest delicately on his high cheekbones and his hair settles just below his eyebrows, in a cute messy way. The color of his lips is still red contrasting with  the paleness of his skin. It's then that I notice the strong handprint around his delicate slender neck, reaching out I brush my finger tips against it slightly, wishing that my touch absorbed all his pain.

Axel (POV)

The first thing that I notice is the sharp pain in my upper abdomen, even though its not as bad as some of the other beatings I've got from dad. The second thing I notice is the warm rough hand entangled with mine. Opening my eyes slightly, I wince at the bright light, but after a few blinks I'm able to refocus my eyes. The white room, and hospital smell is the third thing I notice. Why am I in a hospital?
