Pasan and his friends were riding in the bus, back from a night at a restaurant.
"We should do this again sometime," Pasan said with a sigh.
"Yeah, it's been a while since we saw each other," Derek whispered, "two years to be exact."
"Seriously, where were you Pasan?" Jess questioned.
He hesitated for a bit.
"Well..., I had a lot going on you know."
All of a sudden three men, who were sitting close to them, jumped up and grabbed Pasan's backpack, and leaped off the bus. Pasan quickly ran after them while his friends got the bus to stop. They ran out of the exit only to find that Pasan was already walking back with his bag. The only sign that he had fought was the men on the ground and a small cut on his cheek.
"Are you ok?" Jess asked. She was always concerned for other people, and she was fond of Pasan.
"I guess ma-" He was cut off as the men got up and jumped on him.
Pasan somehow managed to get them off. He turned around and raised his hands. A light blue ball of light appeared between them. Pasan yelled and threw the ball at the men. It exploded on contact, flinging them some ten to fifteen feet down the road.
When he turned around he saw that everyone was looking at him.
"Oh no," Pasan whispered and jolted down the sidewalk.
"Pasan, wait!" Derek yelled after him.
"Hold on, you go check whether those guys are even alive. I'll go talk to him." And with that Jess started running towards Pasan.
Pasan slowed his pace down to a walk after he got some distance between him and the bus. He had his hood up but it didn't really hide the fact that he wasn't human anymore.
"Pasan, hold up," Jess called out to him when she was just a couple of feet away. She noticed that his hoodie was looking a bit off.
"Go away," Pasan said, "didn't you see what I just did?"
"I saw and I want to know how you did that"
She ran closer and grabbed his hand. "Come on you don't have to be afraid."
"I am, OK!" Pasan yelled, turning back and revealing his face.
Jess suddenly realized why his hood looked weird. Pasan's face now closely resembled a dog's, with a muzzle and everything, the only difference was that his fur was blue. She reached up and pulled down Pasan's hoodie. There were three fins on his head, two where his ears were and another one on the top of his head, his hair was dark blue and the fins were a light creamy yellow. He was crying, "Please, I don't want to hurt you, or anyone."
"W-what are you? How did this happen?" Jess asked concerned and slightly scared.
At that moment Derek came running up to them, "It's OK, those people are alive," He notices Pasan, "What the..."
"Wait, not here," Pasan whispered to Derek and Jess, "I know a place, if, you want to hear about it."
"Lead the way." They both said at once.
