I just want to thank everyone along this ride. I really got out of my comfort zone with this one here. This is the first time I did a prequel and ended it into modern time with a twist. It was crazy and wasn't sure how it would go. But hey, it worked.

With that, thank you everyone and enjoy the epilogue.

~~~~~
After a dip in the springs you were all pitching in for dinner. Grayfia and Akeno had the heavy load. Grayfia was the best cook out of everyone and Akeno was able to keep up with her. Rias and Rina seemed to catch up with other work. Koneko was easily able to clean dishes due to her Rook ability to apply elbow grease. Then Asia and Xenovia were able to plate well. It was a wonderful thing that you tried to do every Sunday. Unless there was a major job or important event, there would always be a great dinner to start Monday off strong.
In the meantime you set the whole table with a little help from Greg. You were going over the final touches of dishes, glassware, utensils, and every other touch as you learned from your wife with time. Because what are the chances that the husband of a maid wouldn't catch onto things? While doing so Greg wanted to talk before the food was ready.
"All done?" He asked.
"For me? Yes. Your mother that's something else. She is more skilled after all. For example the cup handle is on the right hand side for everyone here because no one here is left handed."
"Ah. Well its been a crazy day. You talking about you and Mom, Mom having me, and then I got to do the cannonball."
"A good job at that. But knowing you Gregory I suppose you have more to ask?" You knew this was coming. Might as well be prepared for all of it. He's a ten year old boy that's curious. Better now then at the table. "Go for it."
"What did Mom do when she was pregnant outside of throw an apple at you?" He chuckled.
"One thing your mother craves by the kilo. Noodles."
"Noodles?" Pondered Greg.
"Noodles come in all sorts you know. Ramen, udon, different sauces, add-ons, and recipes of all kinds. From chop-suey, to hamburger, to classic egg and pork slices. It was truly something else. Regardless, it was her comfort food. Although she really mastered making her own twists to classic recipes and amped them up. As well as creating her own. And your mother made her own specialties too."
"Specialties?" Greg's eyes lite up.
"She created her own flavors of ice cream." You nod.
"How!?" Gasped Greg.
"I'll let you in on a secret. Your mother makes a good grape ice cream. I know it sounds weird."
"Dad, they don't make grape ice cream."
You chuckled. "I know Son. I looked all over the place too. All the shops and stands, restaurants, bakeries, and even festivals. But you know what? Your mother makes ice cream suited for high royalty. She keeps it a secret. And yes, she pulled off grape ice cream. As well as Devil Bliss, Hummingbird, Romance, and her more."
"Dad... Is Mom a genius?" He was stunned. In his mind he was daydreaming of Grayfia in a kitchen whisking away and having a freezer display of unique flavors never produced.
"I would think so. I tell her that. She doesn't believe me. Or rather, she thinks there is more to improve. But no one is perfect. No human, Devil, or Angel will."
"Jack. Gregory. Something you'd like to say?" Asked Grayfia coming up behind the two of you.
"Quite a lot actually." You smiled at her.
"You have to teach me." Greg had that light in his eyes.
"What did he tell you?" She glared at you.
"You secret recipe."
"Jack." Grumbled Grayfia.
"Ummm..."
"As your wife I'm flattered, as a mother I will be supportive. As a genuine person you better not have told him about my German delicacies."
"Ice cream Darling. Ice cream." You flinched.
"Ah. I see. Which one?" That brought a smile to her face. Looks like you're off the hook for now.
"Grape."
"Tomorrow when I go shopping."
"Yay!"
Next thing you know, you all wash your hands and get together at the table. Sirzechs being at the head with a small glass of wine in hand. He was going to lead this off. He stood up.
"Once again on this fine day we have gathered to wish everyone the best of luck, health, motivation, and wellness. Together we have high hopes to reach our goals and go forth. These are the best of times and will only get better. And for that, I would like to say cheers to all and a jump start to this week. Cheers."
"Cheers!"
You look at Grayfia next to you. I know you can hear me. I just want to say that after going through everything today from meeting you to now, I regret nothing. Everything had purpose and lined up very well. Outside of a few thrown apples everything has been very well. I love you Darling.
I love you Jack. Now shut up and eat. Before we make ice cream tomorrow.
You bet.
A little emotional on my end of course, but so glad I was able to make good on this. Two or three years ago I would have told you no way. Just shows progress in my ability and showing growth. I hope you are all as happy as I am. Cheers.
