Chapter 4

Skylar’s point of view A Week Later

Bam’s finally home from the hospital. Everyone’s ecstatic. April when on a cleaning spree yesterday, and surprise, the boys were nowhere to be found. Caroline cleaned the kitchen while I cleaned Bam’s room. After I finished, I sat down on his bed and just thought about us. I must have fallen asleep because April came in and told me dinner was ready. I nodded and she left. I stood up and stretched then headed downstairs. Phil was cooking some kind of meet. The smell hit me and my stomach turned. I ran back up the stairs, making to the bathroom just before puking into the toilet. I wiped my mouth before flushing the toilet. I stood up. Caroline was standing in the doorway. She glared at me then walked away. Why am I thinking about this? Because Bam is now yelling at me about how I should go see a doctor.

"Bam, I am fine. It’s just a cold. If it gets worse then I will go see a doctor," I tell him. He glares at me but finally shuts up. My phone rings and I answer it.

"Hello?"

"Kaunis, how is Bam? I heard he was coming home today," Ville says. I smile.

"He’s fine," I say as I get up. I head upstairs to Bam’s room and shut the door.

"That’s good. How are you feeling?" I sigh and sit down on the bed.

"I threw up yesterday, and this morning. Bam was yelling at me to go see a doctor and I can’t get it through his head that the doctor can’t do anything. And I don’t know why, but Caroline is giving me the cold shoulder."

"I’m sorry, kaunis, I’m not sure what to tell you," Ville says, sadly.

"It’s okay, I’ll figure something out eventually." I lie back on the bed and yawn. Ville talks to someone then says to me, "Well, if it cheers you up, I’ll be there in a few days to see everyone." I start grinning.

"Really?"

"Really. I have a show in Ohio, I’ll swing through West Chester, then head on up to New York."

"Everyone will be excited to see you, especially Bam," I say. I glance at the door as it opens. Bam’s face peaks around. I wave him in. He closes the door then climbs onto the bed and lies down next to me. I roll over and put my head on his chest.

"Kaunis, I have to go," Ville says softly.

"I miss you," I tell him.

"I miss you too, but we’ll see each other in a few days." He shouts at someone then says to me, "I love you."

"I love you, too." We say bye and hang up.

"I’m sorry for yelling at you. I’m just worried," Bam says.

"I know you are, but you don’t have to be. I’ll be fine. Ville is coming here in a few days," I say to change the subject. Bam perks up and starts talking. I smile and reply, but I slowly drift off to sleep.

Few Days Later

I pace back and forth in Bam’s room, waiting for Ville to show up.

"Skylar, please sit down. Ville will be here soon," Bam pleads. I look at him and sigh. I plop down on the bed and reach for the chips. Bam smacks my hand.

"No, you’ve done nothing but eat today. If you don’t quit, you’ll look like a cow, and then I will have to hear about how I let you eat all this junk food." I cover my face and groan. Bam removes my hands. I glare up at him.

"Are you sure you’re okay? You’ve been doing a lot of really weird things lately," Bam asks softly. I smile and nod. He sighs and rolls onto his back. I roll over and kiss his cheek. A car door slams and I jump up. I grin at Bam then rush downstairs. Ville makes it into the house just as I plow into him. He laughs, picks me up and swings me around. I wrap my legs around his waist. He stops spinning me and kisses me. I kiss him back hungrily.

"Get a room!" Dunn says. I break the kiss and look at him, smiling.

"If it makes her smile like that, then why should she get a room?" Raab asks.

"Bam!" Ville says before Dunn can reply. Ville sets me down gently, kisses me, then leaves to go hug his friend. Bam hugs him back. I smile, glad that they are friends again. I catch Caroline glaring at me. She turns and leaves the room.

Later that night, after everyone ate dinner and helped clean up, we sit down to watch a movie. It’s Bam’s pick and he chose The Boondock Saints. About halfway through the movie, I get up and head upstairs. I first go to the bathroom then head to Bam’s room. Ville is sitting on the bed. I smile, close the door and walk into his waiting arms. He wraps them around me and buries his face in my chest, sighing in content. I wrap my arms around him. I kiss his head then slowly step away from him. He looks up at me, hurt showing on his face, but he lets me. I run a hand through my hair, take a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"Ville, I need to tell you something," I say, softly.

"What is it, kaunis?" he asks, afraid. He starts to get up, but stops. I smile and walk over to him. I take his hands in mine, kneel down, and look up. I take another deep breath.

"I’m pregnant."
