𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗, and the Professor dismissed us, I shoved all my books into my bag as fast as I could, getting up and making my way to leave the door, when Draco stopped in front of me. His face towered over mine, and although he was intimidating, his eyes had never looked more beautiful. That's what I refused to tell myself.
Instead, I scowled at him, with my lips pressed together, and tried to go the other side, but he kept blocking me.
Grinning his stupid, intoxicating smile, he asked,

'Who are you going with to the ball?'

'None of your business, Malfoy.' I snarled, giving him a withering glare.

He looked a bit taken aback, but I was so furious, I didn't give a shit. Smoke was probably steaming out of my ears.
How dare he talk to me like that and think he can still be my friend? I'm not some toy he can play with like his other bodyguards, Crabbe and Goyle.

'You know I didn't mean what I said, right?' he asked cautiously.

'Yeah, well you still said it dickhead.'

He still didn't budge, so I stomped hard on his foot, making him yowl, and pushed him aside,

'Just fuck off, will you?' I seethed, as I stormed away.

Cedric Diggory.

It was dinnertime at the great hall, and his eyes locked with mine, when I looked up. He walked over with purpose.

We exchanged conversations two years ago, and I guess we became good mates.
He was also so... perfect. So unbelievably perfect. There was an brightness to him. A sort of innocence. To add to that, he was also well fit. If someone asked me what my dream boy would be like, I would be describing Cedric Diggory.

We hadn't talked since the beginning of this year, and I wondered why he was walking my way, but I didn't even have time to adjust, as he had already come up and sat down beside me. A wave of cinnamon washed up my nose. He smelled clearly of Christmas morning and autumn spice. I also noticed he had gotten a lot taller, and much more handsome now he was sat by me.

He smiled warmly, before greeting me,

'Hey Domitilla.'

His voice was soothing and refreshing, like when you drink water after eating something minty.

'Oh hey, Cedric.' I smiled back, 'How are you finding Hogwarts?'

Was I stupid? What a terrible question to ask. God, what was wrong with m-

'Ah, it's wonderful. Too bad I'm not in Slytherin, or I would've talked with you more.'

I felt all the blood rush to my face. I smiled shyly, looking down and trying to hide my rose-pink cheeks. The way he smiled was so contagious. He had a glowy kind of grin, the type where you feel so comforted when around him. I didn't know why a Hufflepuff would even talk to me, but I always had a soft spot for them. They're not slutty little wankers like some people.

'Hey, so,' he continued, 'Your family has invited mine to attend the Malfoy ball next week. Crazy, right? We're just a plus one family, I guess. Don't think the Malfoys like us too much. Would you like to be my date? Could be nice dancing with a familiar face.'
he chuckled softly, giving me a sweet, broad smile.

I nodded,
'Sure. See you there.'

We talked for most of dinner. I giggled uncontrollably at his cute jokes. Being with him made me feel so relaxed, and warm.

'I have to go now. See you in the next class, Peyton.'

He gave one last smile, before sitting up and walking back to the Hufflepuff table.

During the end of dinner, I kept glancing up, and making eye contact with him a few times. When he noticed me staring, I looked back down, embarrassed.
It was also hard to eat anything with all the excitement of the ball bubbling in my stomach.

After I finished, I walked out the hall, ready to go back to my dorm.

A cold hand suddenly wrapped round my arm pulling me slightly towards them, my back hitting gently against their chest. I turned around abruptly and looked up at him.

'Malfoy.' I groaned, stepping back as he released his hand.

He looked at me with wonder, but also a slight hint of frustration.

'Why were you talking to Diggory?' he asked, keeping his voice low.

'What's it to you?' I said, trying to not sound loud.

'What were you talking to him about?' He pressed.

Now I was trying not to sound enraged.

'Leave it, Malfoy.'

'Just answer the question.' he breathed, sounding calmer.
I could tell he was trying to control his temper.

I sighed. Couldn't believe I was still having conversations with him.

'If you must know, he asked me to be his date to the ball.'

Draco just stood there. His fists released in shock, and his lips slightly parted.

'What?' I asked, rolling my eyes,
'Yeah, I actually do get with boys. Don't look so shocked.'
I grinned, giving myself a mental pat on the back. Good one, Domi..

He stayed there, still as ice, and gulped, staring so deep into my eyes I had to look away.
They were so mesmerising. His stone cold irises cut deep into mine with pure astonishment.

'Wai- wait. You're going with him?' He stammered.

I nodded, tilting my head slightly in confusion. This was not the reaction I had expected.

He breathed out in a slump.

'I thought...you were going with me.' he finally muttered, glancing at the floor, his hands fiddling with eachother.

My eyebrows shot up. I could feel myself start to fluster, so I coughed awkwardly.

'Well- uh, you-' I began, stuttering over my words as I tried to piece my sentence together. I took a deep breath in, and out.

I looked straight at him, in way more confidence than I actually felt,

'Maybe if you weren't such a dick, I would've went with you.' I eyed him, before stepping away and walking out, leaving him there stumped.
