The next morning, Shouta finds himself stepping into the courtroom building with a shaking Izuku glued to his side.

It's definitely not the place both of them want to be right now, but it's necessary to get that monster behind bars. Hizashi walks in behind Izuku and Shouta, while fixing his loose tie.

Shouta looks around the room. He sees their lawyer—Daisuke Hideki—sitting in one of the front rows. The man waves Shouta, Hizashi, and Izuku over to the reserved seats given. The greenette gives the man a smile as he sees Hideki pulling out a peppermint like he always does when he sees Izuku. Shouta genuinely likes Hideki—he's a very nice guy with good manners. The man has also got some grief against Hisashi for a past incident, and was more than willing to help them out with this case.

Soon enough, everyone takes their seats, and the first witness is being called up.

The witness is a man named Tatsuo Taichi. The man is listed as an old friend of Hisashi's who he used to drink with when Izuku was little. He's not very well dressed, and he's obviously still a little intoxicated from his most recent time drinking. Tsukauchi and Hideki both look at each other with concerned looks.

The man is asked questions on how Hisashi acted when they were together, both sober and drunk. Taichi flails his arms around while he tells the courtroom stories of how they used to go and 'fuck' the ladies in the clubs they went to. Not a very good start for both Hisashi and Taichi, but Tsukauchi is taking anything given to him with gratefulness.

Taichi then starts to talk about how Hisashi would always rant that his son had the "cutest little ass." That makes Izuku slither down in his seat, while Shouta stares in disgust at the drunkard as he carefully pulls Izuku closer to him. Hizashi makes eye contact with Hideki, while they both look at Taichi in horror.

When Taichi's questioning finally ends, he's dragged out by a few of Tsukauchi's detective partners, who are probably taking him to an interrogation room to confess his own crimes.

The next witness is a woman. She has fair skin with gorgeous white hair that floats down her shoulders and back; it looks like a cloud. There is a light blue steak that runs through the right side of her hair. Her look startles Shouta and Hizashi instantly. They both stare at the look alike to an old friend of theirs.

Her name is revealed to be Dasamu Sha. Her relation to Hisashi is being an ex-lover. She answers her question with many stories she was told by Hisashi about his son. She herself has two biological daughters, but they were separated in an incident.

The smile this woman wears is sly, yet familiar. And her pitch black eyes bare into Shouta's when she looks over in his direction. When she exits the witness stand, it's shown that she's taller than Shouta originally suspected. Her facial structure looks extremely familiar too.

If this lady just put her hair into a ponytail...

The next major witness is Danuja Rui. As soon as he sets foot in the door, Shouta can instantly tell something is off about him. He squeezes tightly on Hizashi's hand.

Rui is calm, cool, and collected throughout his testimony. He answers swiftly and smoothly, though Tsukauchi can't say with completely honesty. Rui is vouching for Hisashi, and he tells them all the 'good' qualities about how he and Hisashi co-run private hospitals together. It makes Shouta and Naomasa sick to know that this guy is a qualified health worker.

"Hisashi was a cop back in the day, before he started working with me to create private hospitals both here in Japan and in America. He's dedicated his entire lifestyle to helping people." Rui says with confidence. Tsukauchi squinches his face as he detects a half-lie.

After Danuji's testimony is over, the court is let out for a fifteen minute recess. Izuku doesn't let go of Shout once when they get up to go get some fresh air.

The greenette sees Danuji out of the corner of his eye, talking with Dasamu in the corner of the building. They both look at Izuku with mocking stares as Shouta leads him outside.

Finally, it's time for the last witness of the day to take their place on the stand.

A familiar figure walks to the seat. She sits, and flips her pink hair out of her face. She sees Hizashi and Shouta, and waves at them with a smile. The two men wave back, not remembering the girl's name.

"State your name, please." Someone asks.

"Aki Kumino." The young lady says. So that's where Hizashi and Shouta have seen her before. She was the front desk receptionist at the hospital who defended Katsuki, and was the receptionist at the hospital when Hizashi went to pick up Touya.

Aki then looks over at Hideki, who's smiling at her with a big dopey grin. He gives her a quick thumbs up. If Shouta could say anything right now, he would probably make a snarky comment on how Hideki needs to stop giving the girl 'goo-goo-eyes' and go ask her out on a fucking date. However, he's in the middle of a courtroom, so that's probably not the best option.

"How do you know Hisashi Midoriya?" Someone questions.

Aki stays quiet for a moment. "He killed my sister and her husband. I watched it happen. They didn't even investigate him. They said it was because he was a cop, and he knows what he's doing; that my sister and her husband must have done something horrible. They didn't. They were eating ice cream with their kids."

Tsukauchi freezes when his quirk rings all of that as true.

"Hisashi Midoriya is a monster, and I am here to prove that. His reign has gone on for too long, and innocent children are suffering." Aki announces with a straight face.

Shouta can't help the feeling of hope that comes back and settles in his chest.
