    I sat in my room picking at the strings on my acoustic guitar in annoyance. My parents had made me sign up for the school talent show, saying 'it'll look great' on my resume for college, so now I have to learn how to play a song so they'll get off my back. I heard a knock and saw Luke's head peering through the door. I chuckled, letting him come in. He walked in and smiled. He sat on the end of my bed.
    "What'cha working on?" He asked me. I sighed, stopping my picking at the strings and sat up better.
    "My parents forced me to sign up for this stupid talent show thing. So now I have to learn how to play at least one song." I explained. I saw his eyes light up. He looked and saw another guitar on the other side of the room. He managed to pick it up and started playing. I watched him.
    "Look, you press on this string on this fret, then this fret, and then this one. Easy peasy." Luke said. I sat there and followed what he did, or atleast attempted to. He finally sighed and walked, sitting by me on the bed. He stayed still for a second, then slowly began to try and grab my hands. I felt his touch and my breath hitched. He took my hands and guided them, helping me practice and learn the song.

   -3 weeks later-

I smiled as I finished the song. Reggie and Alex clapped. I set the guitar down and they started talking.
"That's amazing Y/N! Luke is going to be so surprised at the talent show. He'll love it." Reggie told me. Alex chuckled, twirling his drumsticks.
"Almost as much as he'll love you." Alex remarked, making Reggie nod his head in agreement. I blushed, shaking my head.
"Whatever guys, anyways, it's almost time for the talent show to start, so I have to get going." I told them. They waved goodbye, so I quickly left Julie's house and went to my house next door. I changed into my outfit for the night and my sister drove me to the school. Once I got there the talent show had already started. I saw the talent show coordinator looking around in panic. It was the music teacher. I walked up to her to let her know I was there. She sighed in relief.
"Oh heavens child, you really scared me for a second there! You're next so be ready!" She told me. I felt a lump form in my throat as I saw through the curtain the huge crowd that was there. I walked onto the stage and stood at the side behind the curtain, watching the puppet doll performance that was going on. I felt a gust of wind and saw Luke standing by me. I smiled at him.
"Hey. You and the boys are out there watching right?" I asked. He nodded his head and smiled back at me.
"Of course. We're all here to support you. You got this." He spoke, patting me on my shoulder. I looked at him in surprise, but he just stared at me. His hand moved down to my arm and he rubbed his thumb back and forth and gave my arm a slight squeeze for assurance. I looked into his eyes and I saw a sparkle in them as he started to smile. I could see him starting to lean in towards me, and I started to do the same. But right as the nice moment started, it was cut short by the sound of them announcing my name. Luke immediately let go of me and gave me a thumbs up, before disappearing. I walked out onto the stage and took a deep breath and plugged in the guitar Luke gave me to use. I saw him and the boys standing at the front, but obviously no one could see them. Julie smiled at me and waved. She shushed her brother and her dad as they were whispering loudly. I sighed in relief and started playing.
"First things first, we start the scene in reverse.." I sang. I saw Alex and Reggie grinning and Julie rooting me on. I saw Luke's jaw drop open in shock. I smiled and continued singing the words.
"He said, she said, conversations in my head. And that's where they're gonna stay forever!" I belted the lyrics and the crowd began cheering and clapping along. I saw Luke's eyes watering. I looked around and saw a familiar group of faces in the crowd behind Julie. I paused for a second, making everyone look at me in confusion. I walked off the stage and over to where Luke was. I told Julie to turn the lights off. She got up and ran over to the lights, turning them off. I looked at Luke.
"People can see you if you play right? Play." I told him. I saw him smile and a tear fell. Julie turned the lights back on as he played and we both sang the lyrics with tears in our eyes. I walked over to his mom and saw her crying. Her and her husband reached out and waved at Luke. He smiled at them and continued singing. The song finally ended and Julie turned the lights off again and turned them back on. I had the guitar back in my hands, and the crowd roared loudly. Everyone was on their feet, including his parents. The talent show ended not long after and Julie and the boys all left, going back to her house. I sat on the stage until the whole room was empty. I stood up and started walking over to the stairs when I felt someone spin me around. Before I could see who it was I felt someone kiss me. They pulled away before I could react, and I saw it was Luke. My face went red and he was smiling at me. He pulled me in and kissed me again, but with even more intensity than before. I kissed him back, and I felt him smile ever so slightly and wrap his arms around my waist, pulling me in as close as possible. Eventually we both pulled away and he rested his forehead against mine.
"What you did was just... perfect. I can- I can't be-" Before Luke could finish I shushed him I kissed his cheek, making him go quiet.
"You helped Julie feel connected to her mom, and you helped me deal with the loss of my mom. I just wanted you to be able to connect with your mom again too," I told him. He looked at me and smiled once again, pulling me into a hug. We both stayed on the stage for at-least an hour, just enjoying each other's prescence.
"Oh, by the way, you using my guitar." And paused and whistles, making me giggle as he pulled me in for another sweet kiss.
