"Sire, the guards have come back from their search. It appears they were not able to locate the woman." Hyson's most trusted and right-hand man delivers an update on behalf of the search party, and he is quite calm in doing so, considering how short-tempered his master is. "I'm afraid they lost track of her."
His master, sir Hyson, was the emperor of the nation. After mercilessly murdering his father, the previous emperor, in cold blood, he took the throne for himself. Not long after, Hyson fell into a deep depression and only until recently has gained back his strength. It is still a mystery as to why the emperor would go to such lengths to find a common woman.
Hyson groans in frustration, annoyed at the incompetence of his soldiers. "The only reason I'm sparing their lives is for the sake of having more people in this search. Summon the head of the search party to the throne room."
His right-hand man was in fact both his butler and bodyguard, a person who was raised alongside his highness, since they are of the same age. At his master's request, he bows and silently leaves.
Hyson is sitting down on the throne alone, having dismissed every servant from the room. He holds his sword tightly to his hip, aware of the dangers of having a monarch left alone. Assassins. They have been on his tail lately, watching his every move, yet not confronting him at all. He wonders what their purpose was in following him around, and so keeps it a secret of their stalking. Until he finds out, he may as well keep shut.
Another problem haunting his mind would be that woman. Jia. She thought she could escape him.
He laughs to himself, tilting his head to the side and smirking. She has always been this amusing, making him lose his sanity over her.
