After The Battle Of Hogwarts, Dean Thomas was walking down a rubble-strewn corridor on the way back to Gryffindor Tower. He noticed a black strap sticking out from under a small piece of collapsed wall.

Intrigued, he pushed the stone away, and discovered a muggle camera. He recognised it immediately: it had been a common feature of the Gryffindor common-room since his second year. It had been owned by a young boy called Colin Creevey. Dean's heart gave a heavy thud - he had been one of the first people to see Oliver Wood carrying the body of the young Gryffindor through the main doors.

Dean took the camera back to Gryffindor Tower, all the while brushing dust off the lens.

Upon entering the portrait hole, he saw Harry, Ron and Hermione standing nearby. Harry and Hermione were leaning into the torso of the tall redhead, their bodies shaking with sobs. Ron has his arms protectively around his best friends, holding them close as tears dripped of his long nose.

Without thinking, Dean raised Colin's camera and clicked the lens. He then approached the trio and asked if a photo was alright with them. They all nodded silently, tears still pouring from their eyes.

Dean developed the photo magically, and, when Kingsley Shacklebolt was asked to find commemorative photos of the battle, Dean submitted his photo, grainy as shaky as it was.

At the ministry, the photo was blown up and was given pride of place in a shrine to remember the dead, so the Wizarding World would never forget what people had sacrificed.

The photo was simply known as
'I'll stand by you'
