"Ok what's the pla- OW FUCK-" Awsten instantly regretted slamming the map onto the hard wooden table as his hands began to sting as if he'd high-fived a brick wall at full force. Naturally this drew a laugh from his spiky haired best friend across the table from him. "Careful, you might break the table" Remington joked, earning a playful shove on the shoulder from Awsten in response.

"Anyways, as I was saying," The green haired man continued. "What's our plan?" He dumped some pencils out of his pencil case along with a highlighter and an eraser.

"We leave at quarter to midnight. On the way we can stop at that store down the street and get our supplies, then we get to the mansion and bust in. If nobody's there, boom. We have our hangout place and probably some cool stuff" Remington explained. Awsten nodded and grabbed a pencil, starting to jot down a list of the stuff they'd need on the blank part of the map. Crowbar, bandages in case someone got hurt, and snacks. They couldn't NOT bring snacks.

Just as they were continuing their discussion on their plans and backup plans for getting in, someone cleared their throat from the kitchen doorway. Both of them turned their heads to the doorway.

"What are you guys up to this time?"

"Oh, hey Emerson. Where's Sebastian?" Remington was avoiding the question. Awsten just stayed awkwardly silent, hoping he wouldn't be asked directly what he and Remington were up to.

"He's out at a friends house. Now back to my question.." Emerson headed over, curiously glancing at the map. "The old mansion on that hill? What are you guys gonna... oh. Let me guess, you guys are breaking into it."

"...Yeah, you've caught us" Awsten half-joked. Emerson just nodded, briefly adjusting the hat he was wearing.

"Can I come?"

This startled both of the older men. Neither had expected that.

"I- I mean yeah, sure, but like w h y-"

"I'm bored."

-Timeskip to that night brought to you by my lazy ass-

The three men headed into the store. "Alright, let's split up and get everything we need. Awsten, you're in charge of getting the stuff to actually get in. Emerson, you're in charge of the first aid stuff. I'll grab the snacks," Remington said this while already heading to the snack aisle.

As they all went looking for the stuff they'd need they occasionally spoke to each other from across the store. It was small enough to do that.

"Any luck on the first aid stuff?" Remington called to Emerson.

"They only have Hello Kitty band-aids" Emerson replied.

Awsten looked over, seeing as the shelves were short enough to see everyone. "Get them, if we get hurt at least we'll look cute."

Remington practically cackled, almost dropping his armful of Doritos and Cola. Eventually the three of them headed to the front of the store, buying all the stuff, the cashier starting some small talk.

"So what are you boys doing with all this stuff?"

"We're gonna explore the abandoned mansion up on Dead Hill" Emerson explained, earning a look from Awsten and Remington. They didn't want to actually say what they were planning.

"Oh, good luck. I heard a vampire lives up there though, be careful" the cashier replied, bagging the purchased items and handing the bags over.

The three of them left the store, tossing the bags into the trunk of Awsten's car and getting into the car.

And there it was, Dead Hill, looming over them as the moon cast a dim light over the mansion, the stairs leading up the hill looking old and worn.

It was time.
