Chapter 3

Kagura managed to land a kick on Sougo, but before it could even reach his face he used his arm to shield himself—only to have a broken left arm. Dang! He forgot he was up against a Yato.

In a fast movement, using his right arm, he grabbed Kagura's ankle and pulled it causing her to fall on her back. Her face gave Sougo's sadistic side satisfaction. Pain. This girl has blood dripping on her leg even before they started the fight. Now he was sure, this was their target.

'He got your leg. The reason you couldn't run fast enough.'

"Die..." He said.

Sougo's katana stopped before it could even reach Kagura's forehead. It's blade was an inch apart...the same as the tip of her umbrella pointing on his head. He was impressed alright but he couldn't accept the fact that he also forgot that she was holding her weapon.

Anger suddenly crept unto him as he remembered something.

Still holding her wounded ankle, he tightened his grip that made Kagura scream in pain. He then took his time to sent her only weapon flying using his sword.

And now to finish her off.

A clang sound made Kagura open her eyes. It widened when she saw a wooden sword. Sougo's face remained blank but his stares were dangerous while looking at the pair of eyes, same color as his. He let go of her ankle, but he also made sure that his grip was enough to broke her bone.

"Danna, what's this?" His low voice was as dangerous as his stares. If it were his members they could have died but not this man, "You won't be able to get your payment if you stop me like this. Step aside and let me kill that killer."

A smirk formed on his serious face. Sharp eyes as deadly as Sougo's.

"All the more reason to call you tax robbers, then." He answered.

But the truth is, he couldn't afford someone beheaded...again. All the effort he did to forget that nightmare was wasted because of this. He will never let anyone feel the same suffering, not from his sight. Not this little girl. Not ever.

Kagura couldn't walk, she's got a broken bone and it'll take time to heal. Running will only get herself killed...or maybe not. She's busy thinking why this man was helping her. A moment ago she was sure he was mad for shooting his curls.

"Taking her head will only make you one of them now wouldn't it?" Gintoki said, "I shouldn't be the one stepping aside here, ne Sofa-kun?"

That convinced Sougo from his bloody thoughts. Now he wasn't sure if bringing this man was a good idea or not. He did what he was convinced to do so, all his demons gone. For a while there that side of him slipped. Very deadly.

Gintoki also putted his sword back to his hips. He got here just in time to stopped him. He sensed there's something and he was right, but he has no answers. Only one.

The First Division Captain despises Yatos.

"A-are you okay?" Shinpachi tried to approach the female but kept his distance.

She lowered her head to look at the dirt on her dress. The bruise on her ankle became more wounded plus the broken bone the sadistic bastard did. Not like she admitted her defeat, but fighting is now worthless with a broken body part. Torn between thanking her savior and keeping her pride.
