"You start your job today, right?" Louis asks you at lunch.

"Yeah, I'll be doing evening shifts so I don't miss classes. I'm pretty excited actually." You reply with a smile.

"A coffee shop which is also a photo gallery, that's so unique!" Emma claps, "We must visit you someday."

"Sure, but not on my first day, please. I wouldn't concentrate with you guys there."

Your friends let out a "Heeey!" together that makes you laugh.

After school, you say goodbye to Emma and Louis and walk to the place where you would spend your time at for a while. You wanted to help your parents pay for the college fees and this was your opportunity to do so.

You take a breath before entering the place, which was simply named Fine Line.

"Hi! You must be y/n y/l/n, correct?" A nice woman asks as you approach the balcony.

"Yes! It's my first day."

"It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm the owner of Fine Line, you can call me Jennifer. Now let me show you what you need to know."

As the evening goes on, you quickly find your rhythm, learning how to work with the cafe part and how to proceed if a customer wants to buy a photo from the gallery section.

"There are certain pictures that can't be sold, because their authors just want to show them, but we mostly receive works from people who do it for fun and don't mind selling them for some extra money." Jennifer tells you.

"This must be the most original business I've ever seen." You laugh, then point to the photos, "There are some really talented people out there."

"Definitely. Photography like this is getting underrated, so I'm happy I created this." She smiles proudly, "Actually, one of our employees exposes his photos here very often, it's one of his favourite hobbies. He must be here soon, he's taking these shifts with you."

As if fate was listening, the doorbell rings as soon as Jennifer finishes talking, and you can't believe your eyes when you see the person you'd be working with.

"Hey Jennifer, sorry I'm late- y/n?" The boy frowns in confusion.

"Harry!"

"Oh, you guys already know each other?" Jennifer asks.

"He's our new classmate." You smile.

He joins you, "Don't tell me you're the new employee."

"Correct. You'll have to stick with me after classes."

"Well, this should be fun." He smirks.

"Alright kids, enough with the chat." Jennifer claps her hands, "y/n, back to work. Harry, go change. We're full today."

"We're coming!"

Your first shift ended peacefully. Jennifer continued to explain proceedings to you and Harry was happy to help you anytime. You could see you both would get along well during work.

"Jen! What's this?" Harry asks with his eyes widened while holding a piece of paper, when you both were getting ready to leave.

"We're gonna have a photography contest to celebrate five years of Fine Line." The woman smiles.

"With a 10.000$ prize?!"

"Yeah, we got some sponsors. You should enter, kiddo."

"Oh, I definitely will." The boy grins, then quickly puts his jacket on, running to the door, "Bye, Jen! See you tomorrow, y/n!"
