I covered the now clean weapons which are sipped up in a black suitcase with hay and placed the floorboards back down. The table and chair also covered with hay, there in the far corner slumped against the barn wall was the lifeless body of the sheriff, topless and unrecognisable. Smirking I walked out the barn and headed for the trees, where my car was hidden by leaves.

Driving with no headlights on until I got to the main road I headed for home, oh tonight was a good night, the screams of pain from the sheriff still plays like music in my ears. It's currently 3am in the morning, the sky is turning a light grey. I have to be home before 5 as we are leaving for the tour. I turned the radio on and Welcome to my Nightmare by Alice Cooper came on, I couldn't help but laugh, what a perfect song for the perfect occasion. I drove the rest of the way home with the radio blaring.

I quietly turned the key in the front door and slowly opened it, closing it softly behind me. I headed for the stairs, walking up I missed the steps that creak. Once in my bedroom I took my shoes off and flopped onto the bed. I must have dozed as I had a frantic Joe shaking me awake, groggily I looked at my watch, it was 6am, great we're an hour late.
"Come on lazy bones!! You can sleep on the bus!"
"Okay okay! I'm up, now get out of my room!" I snapped
Joe quietly left the room and closed the door, swinging my feet onto the floor. I rubbed my tired eyes, looking at my hands my knuckles were grazed and my nails were caked in dried blood. I don't have time to sort that out now, reaching under the bed I grabbed my packed suitcase and placed it by my desk.
"SPENCER?! ARE YOU COMING? WE NEED TO LEAVE!" Patrick yelled up the stairs
Rolling my eyes I got up and opened the door and yelled back,
"I'M ALMOST READY!"
Closing the door again I quietly clicked the lock, grabbing hold of the bed. I pulled it out from the corner of the room, I carefully lifted the carpet in the corner and eased the floorboard up and away. Grabbing hold of the small leather notebook I placed everything back, opening the book I grabbed a pen from the desk and carefully drew a line through the word 'Sheriff'. Placing the notebook in between my books in my backpack, I unlocked the room and left, the weight of the notebook was a soft comforting weight of a duty I have for this country. I'm like a superhero however people wouldn't see me like that. Walking out the house I took a deep breath in of the cool morning air, getting into the car as Ricky locked the house, images of the night before played like my favourite movie in my head as we headed for the motorway. Today is going to be a good day, I thought to myself as I settled down to sleep, smiling from ear to ear.
