Finally you were going to see her, it felt like its been forever. You decided to fly to South Korea to visit an old time friend; well at least to you she was more like a sister. When you arrived at the South Korean airport you got your luggage. Then you took your phone off of airplane mode and realize you got a text from Yoora.

Text:

Hey,

I’m so sorry I can’t pick you up

my parents got into a car accident

earlier, don’t worry nothing major.

We’re staying with my parents for a

while, if you don’t mind. Yet again I’m

sorry but I can’t wait to see you.

P.S. call yourself a taxi and here is our address.

She sent you the address, which you wrote down on a napkin and texted her back:

IN AN ACCIDENT?

I hope they’re okay and of course

we can stay at their house.

Can’t wait to see you too.

You called a taxi company and waited outside for one.

One approached you and the taxi man took your luggage. You entered the car and waited patiently for the Taxi man to get in.

“Hello ma’am, where am I take you to?” the Taxi man said as he got buckled in.

“Here” you flashed him your phone.

He nodded his head, put the keys in the ignition and drove off. As you were just sitting there, you gazed out your window and started thinking about how you met Yoora.

It all started off as a penpal friendship, she was from South Korea and you were from America, what were the odds that you two would have become best friends? You continued to talk to her using Skype and her English was good. As you both came closer she told you that she really wanted to go to America to study aboard and your parents were cool with having her stay with you. So she came over to America and as soon as you both saw each other you guys became instant friends.

You got to meet her parents through Skype and they always saw you as their daughter too; they loved you. She was five years older than you so you both were never in the same school, but the age difference didn’t matter because you guys had so much fun together.  After completing high school and college she finally left and you both cried saying that next time it was your turn to visit her.

You broke from your daydream when the taxi suddenly came to a stop and smoke was coming out of the engine. The Taxi man got out and lifted the hood as he tried to find a solution, you decided to look up the address on your phone; it was walking distance.

You popped the trunk open and grabbed your luggage.

“I’m sorry ma’am, unfortunately there is something wrong with the engine and I had to call a tow truck to pick it up. I can call you another taxi if you like?” the Taxi man apologized.

“No it’s fine, the house is walking distance from here. How much do I owe you?” you asked mannerly.

“Oh nothing, I couldn’t take you where you needed” the Taxi man replied.

“Are you sure?” you questioned.

“Yes” the taxi man said as he took off to answer a phone call.

With those last words you left, rolling the luggage with your left hand and your phone was in the other.

You suddenly pulled up to an intersection where you had to wait for your light to come on so that you could walk across safely. As you stood there you glanced at you phone and realized it had just died.

“Great. Really. Now” you sighed and stomped your feet.

You dug through your purse to find the napkin with the written address on it. While you were looking, your light changed to walk. So you continued to look through your purse as you began to walk across the street. By the time you reached the other side and your foot was on cement you bumped into someone. All your things from your purse fell out and you kneeled down to pick them up. You could see the stranger’s hands also helping to gather your things. Luckily you found the napkin. You stood up and grabbed the things from the stranger. He was wearing black jeans, a gray long sleeve and a beanie.

“Sorry. Thank you” you bowed politely.

The stranger looked at you. When he saw you he had nothing to say. You were the most beautiful thing he has ever seen. You were trying to get his attention, but he heard nothing not even the music from his earphones; he only saw your lips moving but not a sound. The stranger was tall and super cute, you couldn’t help but smile.

As soon as you smiled the stranger broke out of his gaze.

“Oh I’m sorry,” he said taking his earphones out then looked away while rubbing the back of his neck.

“No it’s fine. Are you okay, I didn’t bump into you to hard, did I?” you worried.

“No… no, no it wasn’t your fault” he lied because it was your fault. It was your fault that his mind was somewhere else and your fault that his heart was beating so fast.

“Umm, oh yeah, you don’t happen to know where this is do you?” you handed him the napkin with the address.

“There’s no number,” he said.

“Really. Oh it looks like my lip gloss got on it, I’m sorry” you looked at the napkin.

“I know how to get to the street though” he gave you a sweet grin.

“How do I get there?” you wondered.

“Uhh, your going to make a right, then walk straight down then make a left, then…then…then…” he continued as you got lost.

“Got it?” he asked you.

“De-finit-ely” you said slowly and lied.

He laughed.

“You don’t. Come on I’ll walk you there” he grabbed your luggage.

“No. You don’t have to. I don’t want to be a burden,” you pleaded.

“To bad. Lets go” he nodded his head in the way you guys were headed.
