Riverton

Levi sat down in a swivel chair and placed his hands in his pockets. He glanced around the small room which held two jail cells, and two desks with a room with glass walls at the front of the office which read Sheriff's Office.

He turned as Daniel sat down in his chair, his face stuck in a file. He smiled. "Nice place you got here."

Daniel gave him a quick glance. "Oh sorry. I wanted to you by the house, but something came up here I had to see to."

Levi shrugged. "No big deal." He laid his head back as he stared up at the ceiling. Sitting here was going to be pretty boring. Who knew how long Daniel was going to be working on... whatever it was he was working on.

He sighed and stood up. He thrust a thumb toward the door. "Hey, do you mind if I take a look around the town? Maybe it'll help jog something."

"Yeah, of course," Daniel replied, not bothering to look up at him.

Levi gave him a blank stare as he turned to leave.

"Oh!" He turned around as Daniel's swivel chair rolled across the tile. "If anyone asks you any questions, like why you're not in school, where's your parents, things like that just tell them you're with me."

Levi flashed him a smile before pushing open the glass door. Sunlight blinded him as he stepped outside causing him to squint. He glanced around the small town. There wasn't much to see. Just the usual stores. The post office, clothes stores, a pawnshop, and a couple dinners lined the roads as he walked the sidewalk.

He looked down at his converse shoes as he walked along. A breeze blew causing him to shiver. It would've been nice if he could've found a jacket in the lost in found in the hospital.

He sat down on a metal, green bench and stared at the traffic that drove by. Millions of questions raced through his mind. What was he doing up on that cliff? What was he doing outside of the town to begin with? How did he get such a large gash on his head.

He reached up and touched the bandage that was tapped to his forehead. He sighed and leaned over, placing his elbows on his knees. There were too many strange questions that he didn't have answers to.

Something caught his attention from the corner of his eye. Something across the street. He looked up to see a woman dressed in a baby blue blouse, black pants, with a white jacket on walking down the sidewalk on the opposite side. He smiled recognizing her as the volunteer from the hospital. Though, she was wearing different clothes then earlier. Maybe the air had become more fridge since earlier and she went home to change into something more suitable for the weather.

Levi squinted his eyes. This woman said she would meet him on her walks in the woods by the bridge. What bridge? What woods? Maybe that was where he should go. Maybe there he could find the answers to who he was.

He stood up and glanced around looking for someone to point him in that direction. He noticed a young woman striding toward him, her nose buried in a book, and her long, curled brown hair blowing in front of her face by the wind.

"Excuse me!" He raised an arm into the air hoping to get her attention. Unfortunately, it didn't. He stepped around the bench and up in front of her. He placed his hands forward so she didn't run into him. "Hello?"

The woman gasps, and hugged her book close to her chest. "I am so sorry! I didn't see you there."

Levi furrowed his brow, picking out her words through her thick, French accent. "No, no. My fault. I was trying to get your attention."
