IN a world of superpowers, those who were blessed with a powerful and flashy Quirk were deemed fortunate. But a person can only know so much. Not many knew about secretive individuals such as (y/n) and her real past nightmare that still never fails to haunt her sleep.
Her past as a rat lab and the horrors and torment of her villainous parents is what she held a secret from most. All because of the powers she considered very dreadful to be born with.
The same power she was not able to freely discipline for the many years of physical and mental abuse. Leaving other people no choice but to take precautions when found close to her. all in fear of getting injured.
Even her classmates held quite a fear towards her, especially after accidentally losing full control of her powers in small activities such as quirk training. Of course, they didn't hate her for they had known so little about her. But it resulted in more lack of the little confidence she had left and being left out of any group. leaving her sinking alone in her seat most of the time and in her self hatred.
And from how their teacher gave her extra attention and the bandages that wrapped her pale arms and fragile legs, leaving so little pale skin revealed, gave them a glimpse of her past.
Only a glimpse to most but not all. One of the few people who knew about her history is Todoroki Shoto.
A few weeks before. (y/n)was walking through her school hallways, and rather than focusing on her destination, her mind was haunted by many dreadful memories. she accidentally bumped into the mismatched haired boy. As a result of their skin colliding and the mere panic. (y/n) unintentionally activated her telepathy ability and projected her thoughts into his own.
Shoto's eyes widened as piles of frightful memories displayed over his thoughts. And before a single word slipped from his mouth, (y/n) had already sprinted away at the sight of her classmate wincing lightly in pain while clutching his head.
All Shoto could do after that accident was staying silent and never bring it up, afraid of causing her any undeeded pain. And observe her at any chance he was given.
