"'Here in the garden'"

Rings was lead away from the camp, smiling with each step the two took.

"'Let's play a game'"

The two were in a clearing now, Rings figures it was at least two miles away. With quirks people do move fast. It does also help how both of them have teleportation quirks.

"'I'll show you how it's done'"

"Why did you lead me here teach?" Rings asked.

"'Here in the garden'"

"The others wanted to play a game." The teacher said. "Sorta like hide and seek."

"'Stand very still'"

"So they told you to hide me while they tried to look for me?" Rings asked. The teacher nodded.

"This'll be so much fun!" Rings said, smiling.

"And then he smiled"

The teacher smiled. "When they no longer want to play, I'll come get you. But please don't move out of the clearing."

"That's what I'm after"

Rings was happy, loving to see people smiled. They nodded.

"A smile in their eyes"

Rings watched as the teacher left.

"The sound of their laughter"

Rings softly hummed a song, waiting.

"Happy to listen"

"H-hey, Rings. Can you help me make a cake for Rain?"

"Happy to play"

"Sure, just let me finish this building for them."

"Happily watching them drift away"

...

"I'm sorry, Rings... I'm hanging out with Bree..."

"Happily waiting"

Rings smiled up at the sky... how long can they keep this up?

"All on my own"

The small Octoling began hoping someone would find them.

"Under the endless sky"

As stars came out, Rings had started to count them.

"Counting the seconds"

This was a very long game.

"Standing alone"

Getting tired, Rings had sat down, soon falling asleep while sitting.

"As hundreds of days go by"

"Anchor, it's late... we need to go to bed." Rain said, picking up Anchor.

"Happily wondering"

"But- Rings!" Anchor said.

"Night after night"

"Rings is well, Rings. I'm sure they're fine." Rain said.

...

"Is this how it works?" Rings thought to themself, staring at the sky. "Am I doing it right?"

"Happy to listen"

Rings started to remember all of the conversations they had with their team.

"Happy to stay"

They wanted to leave, Rings was know to defy teachers but...

"Happily watching them drift away"

They hate it when people break rules of the game.

"You keep on turning pages for people who don't care"

If they aren't playing the game anymore then the teacher would come to get them... right?

"People who don't care about you"

Rings softly started to hum, pulling a candy bar out of their hoodie.

...

"And still, it takes you ages to see that no one's there"

Night 30... The teacher didn't forget... right...?

"See that no one's there"

Night 61...

"See that no one's there"

Night 92

"Everyone's gone on without you"

Night 105... Rings didn't like this game...

"Finally something"

What was that? A car?

"Finally news"

Rings walked to the edge of the clearing, seeing the bus drive past a few tree.

"About how the story ends"

Gasping, Rings tried to run after it, using one of their quirks to try and grab it.

"They aren't there now"

It sped off, leaving them behind...

"They had all left"

But...

"With all of their brand new friends"

Inside the bus...

"Isn't that lovely?"

Everyone seemed...

"Isn't that cool?"

So happy...

"And isn't that cruel?"

Without them...

"And aren't I a fool to have"

Would they really all leave Rings behind...?

"Happily listen"

Would they all really leave them to die in the forest...?

"Happy to stay"

Seems like it...

"Happily watching them drift"

Tears forming in Rings' eyes, they used their second quirk to leave the forest, and appear in the city.

"Drift"

If they don't want them then...

"Drift away"

Why should they go back?
