Chapter 21- Welcome Home

Gil and I got secretly married after two weeks on the island. We inhabited a small apartment that was fairly working. We renovated it to our tastes and now we call it home.

We were helping Gaston at the tavern when the island convulsed. My eyes widened. It was the same tremor we felt when the barrier was broken.

We went outside and ran toward the entrance, meeting Uma as we walked through the archway. The barrier was gone. We were free.

Uma cheered as we ran up to the balcony, seeing The Core Four and Ben standing on the balcony on the other side.

It's time to bring together

We walked off the balcony and down the stairs, walking while singing onto the bridge.

Our groups met in the middle and we started dancing, Gil and I dancing in front of each other while smiling.

We ran on the bridge toward Auradon, where we faced the true AKs.

The AKs bowed to us, and Uma and I smiled at each other. She cheered, and I ran off to the side, hiding myself in the crowd as everyone danced. I smiled as Gil danced with Jay. Gil had told me about their plans to go exploring, and I completely supported him. I even offered to go with him, and he thought it was a great idea.

Everyone looked out at the Isle, panting, as Celia and Dizzy walked up to Mal. She hugged both of them as a parade came into view, a purple handmade dragon flying around. I smiled as Mal gasped, dancing around with the others. Dr. Facilier, Lady Tremaine, and Mr. Smee appeared next, and the four went to hug them.

"We finally made it!" Gil said cheerfully as he ran up and hugged me.

"We did," I giggled.

"Claire," I heard Ben's voice.

I turned and saw Ben standing on the balcony with Mom and Dad. I contemplated going up there for a moment before walking up the stairs to the balcony.

"Hi," I said tentatively.

"Hi, Claire." Mom hugged me with tears in her eyes.

"Welcome home, princess," Dad whispered as we shared a family group hug.
