Seth's POV

I sighed and walked back to my friends.

"Have fun?" Nick asked as the others walked ahead

   "Tonnes"

"Oh no, your plan to seduce my sister was a failure. Who saw that coming? Harry owes me five dollars"

   "Shut up, Nick"

"Did you think it would be that easy?"

"No, but I didn't think it would be that bad, it was like my first move after ages of liking her and I got shot down"

"Just 'cause you hug her and whisper in her ear, doesn't mean she'll fall at your feet,"

"I usually get a better reaction"

"Okay, Mister Ladies-man. Don't act like she's just another number"

"Nicholas. Come on, you know she's not"

"Wow, you just "Nicholas"d me. I know, I know, you've liked her since forever, but you still go out and flirt with all these girls"

"Because I knew I'd never get her"

   "Whatever. I don't like it."

   "What?"

"If you liked her as much as you say, all these other girls wouldn't even be an option. This isn't a game, Seth. This is Eliza, she pisses me off from time to time but she's my sister and one of my best friends and I swear to God, if you hurt her..." Okay, there are a lot of things I need to explain to you here, firstly Nick couldn't hurt me, of course because he's my friend but also because he's not as strong as me. Secondly I've had a thing for Eliza forever. When we were kids we had a massive crush on each other but when we got to the pre teen years the teasing made it awkward and we drifted apart, after years of merciless teasing we developed a frienemy relationship, so she called it but underneath it all we definitely cared for each other. Well, I did, I can't speak for her, considering she hates me, also that yes, I've gone out with other girls, but nothing serious, not even proper dating either, maybe a fling for a few days or single dates here and there, but it just felt wrong, like I was cheating myself, like it wasn't fair on the girl either, that even if I was with her, I had a thing for Eliza. I've tried to get over it, but when I spend time with her, even if it's teasing, actually if I just see her I get happier, okay I'm making myself sound like a giant sap so I'm going to shut up now

   "Nick, I wouldn't hurt her"

"Good" he turned and started walking and I followed behind with a sigh. The big brother protection thing was going to get old.
At lunch I passed by her table. She smiled up at me, curiosity glinting in her eyes, wondering if I was still mad at her for a reason she didn't know. She's sweet, too sweet and she gets walked all over because of it. I flashed her my grin that I had been told was quite impressive. She raised her eyebrows and laughed. As I got closer she whispered
"Dont pull a muscle in your face" I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"Dont get to close to the trash, a garbage man might bring you to the dump if he sees yours"
"Shut up, I'm better looking than you. Actually maybe you should pull a muscle, maybe it'll distort your face so it's easier to look at"
"You don't seem to 've suffering too much"
"I've learned to mask the pain"
"Go fall down the toilet, where you belong"
   "Go jump into a volcano"
"Cause I'm as hot as lava" I smirked
"No, so you can feel how much it burns to look at you" she smiled sweetly and fluttered her eyelashes as she took a bite of her sandwich.
"Its the radiation of my hotness Eliza, you wouldn't understand "
"Oh please, delusional and a face like the back of a bus"
"Woah, I think we need to calm it here before there's a smack down" her friend Eva interrupted
"I could take him" she smiled
"I'm worried for him" she laughed. I laughed sarcastically
"I'm going to go before I lose my appetite, bye ladies" I smirked and walked away as they whispered and giggled as I walked away, I heard them teasing Eliza and her shout "shut up".
Maybe it wasn't a lost cause after all
