Neha

"My brother is back home" Drithi announces excitedly grinning ear to ear.

"Oh" That's all which came out of my mouth. Mentioning him was enough to increase my heart rate, even after years.

He is my secret, locked in the depth of my soul.

A secret which I can never admit or reveal, even to myself. A secret which I can never accept.

A secret which I never wanted to have, but, he's the most beautiful secret which I would never regret having.

My feelings, whatever they are for him are so sacred that they frighten me. They bring me so much guilt, it makes me feel like I'm betraying someone else.

He will always be that, a secret. It is better if it's that way. The consequences would be terrifying if it's out. It should be buried in my soul with no chance of escape, forever.

"My brother is trying his best to apologise" Drithi chuckles sitting next to me. Even though her voice is humourous, her eyes are filled with gratitude. I smile going back to doing my assignment.

"Thank you, I don't know what magic you are doing but it's changing him. He's coming out of it." She admits truthfully filling me with a small sense of pride.

"You don't have to thank me Dri, What are bestfriends there for?"

"To help in assignments, especially when the bestfriend is on the verge of failing" Virat appears out of nowhere, showing me puppy eyes. I roll my eyes at the expression on his face.

"How many times should I help you!? Get lost, I'm not helping"

"Pwetty pwease"

"I don't do favours" I state sternly to which his face fall. " But..I do deals!" I smirk to which his eyes widen.

He looks at me suspiciously "What do you want?" He asked the perfect question which I was waiting for.

"IPL match, next Sunday for three assignments" I say to which he groans in annoyance. I think Virat is the first guy I encountered who hates cricket.

"Fine, but, five assignments for one match" He negotiates to which I smile sarcastically.

"Two assignments for one match"

"Four assignments for a match, pwease?"

"How about none? Me and Drithi will go after convincing my dad that we don't need any male species to accompany us, if he doesn't agree, all I have to do is ask Riyansh." I retort which to which he groans.

"Fine you devil! I'll take you to the match, three assignments, deal" he says taking my hand and shaking with his.

"As if you had any other choice" Drithi says sarcastically to which Virat glares at her.

"Why don't you check on your 'I can't fucking handle a break up brother' and leave my Nehu to me?"

"VIRAT!!!"

"What!? I didn't say anything wrong, you are giving him too much attention, I don't like it" he says throwing me in confusion. Why does he mind if I talk to anyone?

"Virat, it's my job" I answer sternly.

"No, it's not, you are not getting paid by him, why do you care so much?" He questions me with his tone laced with annoyance.

"Cause he is Drithi's brother! If the same thing happens to your brother,I would do the same! Drithi is my best friend, just like you" I reason to which his face is filled with fury.
