when it came time to finally finish the stream, y/n was, not going to lie, kinda relieved. it was all quite overwhelming.

currently, she was on a zoom call with noah and josh, except this time it wasn't being broadcasted to thousands of people. y/n puffed out some air as she swiped her hair out of her eyes. "you know, i've gotta give the freakshow some props. it's not easy being funny for that long."

noah laughed at her, looking at her as if she had grown two heads. "it is easy to be funny for that long, only problem is, you're not funny."

"the way i get bullied by you is crazy. i'm just gonna join the freaks," y/n throws up a peace sign, wiping a fake tear. "bye guys."

"but no, like seriously, you should actually talk to them, they are really funny people." noah started, it not being the first time he's brought it up. "and they're also really kind, they're not the people they are on screen. well, not always."

josh nods his head, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "and you know what, i think you'd actually get along with haley really well."

"yeah exactly, or claire even, hamzah?" noah suggested, "maybe even chase, i have no clue. but you definitely could get along with them."

y/n hums as she takes in their words, but much to their disappointment she shakes her head. "c'mon guys, think about it. the most logically option would be for our little fake beef to seem as real as possible, if i'm friends with them, it won't seem that authentic. and fans can smell out inauthenticity from miles away."

"i guess," noah sighs out, "but eventually you'll have to put yourself first."

"don't worry, i'm fine with having some enemies for now." y/n tried to lighten the mood. "and i still have you guy-"

a beep on y/n's phone had stopped her from finishing her sentence, her full attention now on the notification rather then the two.

"hold on, finish your sentence, you were about to compliment us." josh called out, jokingly sighing with how y/n still paid her attention to her phone. "you don't even care about us..."

y/n looks away from her phone with wide eyes, a light blush coating her cheeks. "guys, it's haley, haley messaged me. what do i say? why is she talking to me?"

noah's mouth gaped as he looked at the girl with a smirk. "are you..."

josh also smirked, nodding his head along with noah as he finished noah's sentence. "...nervous?"

"psh, me, nervous? no way..." y/n looked away from the camera. "no, i just, well. i don't know what to say."

"cause you're nervous." josh continued to tease. "maybe you like h-"

"ok, i'll cut you off there," y/n interrupts him, crossing her arms over her chest. "i've gotta go. you know, i've gotta figure out what to say to this person that i don't like, because you guys are no help in the slightest."

"don't have too much fun," noah sang, wiggling his eyebrows around.

"ha ha ha," y/n said with zero enthusiasm, but she soon smiles at the two. "but, bye guys, we'll talk later about the next sinner thing."

josh smiled back at her, waving his hand around the place.

y/n disconnected from the call as quick as she could, laying down on her bed to get herself comfortable. she didn't mean to leave haley hanging for that long, but she truly was just the tiniest bit nervous.

she opens up the unread message, subconsciously smiling at it, but she quickly plays off her smile as a yawn. she needed to fool herself that she didn't like haley before she could fool anyone else.

darn chase for adding y/n to that one group chat with the whole freakshow. if it weren't for that, she wouldn't have their numbers, and she wouldn't currently be panicking over a small, tiny compliment.

but, the compliment came from haley sharpe. so she didn't know how to feel exactly.

with a deep breath, y/n finally started typing back to haley after leaving the girl hanging on read for a moment.
