I walked down my cold dark street, my heels hitting against the cold wet concrete, the heavy rain hitting my umbrella. My breath was shaky from the anxiety from what could've been waiting in the dark for me, I shook the thought from my head telling myself I was being stupid. Just as I regained my focus someone bumped into me causing themselves and me to come crashing down on the concrete.

I groaned in pain having landed on my wrist which made a cracking noise, I looked to the person on the ground next to me who was panicking, struggling to stand "A-are you okay?" I asked concerned. She turned to me and hugged me so tightly I could hardly breathe. A few minutes passed without a single word just her sobbing loudly, her nails catching my coat, her shaky heavy almost hyperventilating breath.

The more I stared at her frail battered frame the more apparent to me it became she and I weren't safe in the streets, I held her hand tightly with my other hand as not to injure my wrist more "I know you don't know me but we aren't safe in the streets, will you come with me to the hospital?" I looked deeply into her dark glossy eyes.

I didn't get a verbal response, just a shake from her blonde hair filled head. I didn't question why she didn't trust me, I wouldn't say I understood because what she went through must have been horrible but I could understand why she didn't say yes, I knew I had to get her to safety but how I didn't know. Then it hit me I knew that if I called someone she trusted she might change her mind.

I stood up dusting myself off "Do you want to stand up?" I smiled softly holding out my hand for her, she hesitated for a second then she shakily held out her hand placing it in mine. She was cold but warm, I didn't know how or why but she was, I softly pulled her to her feet, a soft groan left her bruised cracked lips but one again not a single word left those same lips.

I looked at her frame seeing that she was only wearing a small pink dirtied dress that barely covered her, I gasped softly seeing the cuts and bruises. I could tell she was uncomfortable because she started covering herself with her hair putting one hand over her chest, the other around her small thin waist. I didn't utter another word I just pulled her into a firm hug, we stood there for a few seconds and then eventually she hugged me back sighing softly.
