I wasn't sure if she would trust me yet but I thought I'd try anyway, I pulled away from the hug wiping tears from her eyes "I-I'm sorry you must be f-freezing here take this" I stammered taking off my coat practically putting it on her myself, she smiled softly looking up at me the light catching her chocolate brown eyes. "You must be freezing without this- but thank you" her voice croaked and broke like she had been screaming for at least a month.

I really hoped that thought wasn't right but with her small withered body I was beginning to think my worst fears were coming true but in another person, I fell into a frozen state stuck in my own head, she snapped me out of it when she asked a question "Did I hurt you when I ran into you?" She softly took my hurt hand in her small cold ones, I took a sharp breath pulling my hand away from her.

She gasped softly biting her lip "I did hurt you, I'm sorry really" she sniffled rubbing her eyes starting to cry softly "Oh no, no it wasn't you I promise I hurt it during hockey practice" I try to reassure her throwing a chuckle in about when I hurt my hand. It was a lie but I tried to make her feel better, I bit my lip softly pulling up her chin wiping away her tears "It's okay really" I smiled patting her head softly

She sniffled a smile starting to creep up "Really? It wasn't me?" She tilted her head wiping her tears from her cheeks, I sighed happily shaking my head "I know it's a huge ask and we don't have too but do you want to get checked over at the hospital?" She hesitated again like when I helped her up.

This time it wasn't as long and she nodded "But you have to promise me something" she said the light showing her pale face brushed with pink and dark circles, I nodded frantically "Anything" I looked at her my eyes wide with relief. She sighed softly looking around "You won't tell my dad, you can't let the hospital staff tell him either" I was confused but I nodded "Of course I promise the hospital isn't that far a walk but you can't walk in your condition okay?" She nodded smiling softly, the smile faded and she fell limp into my arms I panicked trying to wake her up.

I put her down for a second and I shoved my umbrella in my bag, I picked her up screaming in agony from my wrist. I ran, I ran as fast as I could to the hospital. As fast as I could I sprinted up the stairs through the front doors to reception "I need help! Please!" I got on my knees panting heavily tears rolling down my cold pink face, my wrist cracked once more and I screamed in pain again.
