After finding out about the spot when exploring with Lauren, Dinah knew she would be spending a lot of time in the cafe at the top of campus.

Now, a month into the new school year, Dinah found herself cooped up in her usual spot, the back right booth, with her book open and papers spread as she tries to make a brainstorming web as a study guide for her upcoming test in four days.

The cafe workers already knew Dinah and what she liked to order, so when they saw her deep in her studies they'd swing by and drop off her usual: a strawberry strudel with a caramel frappuccino.

They were the only ones Dinah really talked to, other than Lauren at least. She kept to herself, mostly to hide her identity, but she did like being alone a lot. She took every chance she got at being alone. Growing up with seven younger siblings and a bunch of cousins, aunts, and uncles, Dinah was used to having her space constantly invaded. But now, she was able to get the peace and quiet she sometimes desperately needed.

Dinah's eyebrows furrowed when her nose was filled with a scent she didn't recognize, but knew it was familiar. She looked up to see a small blonde walk into the cafe with a familiar dark skinned girl behind her. She knew who she was, that was Normani. Lauren was Normani's study partner, considering they were both minoring business, therefore shared classes. But she knew Normani's scent by now. This scent, lavender with a hint of coconut and honey, was different. A good difference. She felt like she'd known the scent her entire life, but couldn't quite put her nose on it.

When she realized she was staring, she quickly looked back at her papers, avoiding eye contact. She went back to making her web, knowing she was going to need it for this upcoming test. Her phone lit up with a notification from Lauren, saying their father called and wanted them home the following afternoon. She texted back a thumbs up emoji and went back to her studying.

She sneezed as the distinct scent grew closer, the smell overwhelming her sensitive nose. She looked up to see Normani and her friend approaching.

"Hey! Dinah right?"

Dinah smiled, "yes, hi Normani."

"This is Ally," Normani pointed to the girl, who Dinah quickly figured out was the source of the scent.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Dinah," Dinah held her hand out. Ally took it and felt a jolt of energy rush through her body as she shook hands with the brunette.

"Pleasure is mine," Ally smiled.

"What're you studying for?" Normani asked, looking at the disheveled mess spread across the table.

Dinah smiled sheepishly, "my psychology test is on Monday."

"Ah I see, we'll let you get back to it then. Hope to see you again?" Normani raised an eyebrow.

"Sure will," Dinah nodded, looking at Ally, who averted her gaze bashfully, having been caught staring.

"Hey Laur, ready to go?" Dinah stood on her doorstep.

"Yeah, let's go," Lauren nodded, following Dinah out.

When the pair made it into the lobby, Dinah's nose turned up. The same lavender, honey, and coconut smell invaded her nose. She looked around as they walked through the common area, catching a glimpse of the girl sitting in a boy's lap. She frowned slightly before walking out.

"Have you met Normani's friend, Ally?" Dinah asked randomly as they made their way to the front of campus.

"I have actually, but only in passing. I was studying with Normani in her room when Ally came by to say she was going on a date," Lauren shrugged. Dinah felt a weird twinge in her stomach but ignored it.

"She seems nice," was all Dinah said.

"I told Normani to bring her around, but she said that she was always hanging out with her boyfriend," Lauren added.

"Lucky guy," Dinah said quietly, spotting their father's pickup truck.

"Anyone would be lucky to have her," Lauren concluded, getting into the back of the truck first, Dinah following. Lauren tapped the truck once and their father pulled out of the roundabout.

The girls sat in a comfortable silence on the way back to their home (well, new home) and admired the new town they were in. It was larger than their previous town, but nothing they couldn't handle.

Their father pulled into the driveway of their home and cut the engine, both girls hopping out. The home was at the end of the street, just next to the edge of the forest. Dinah and Lauren walked into the house to be greeted by their younger siblings excitedly.

"You home!" six-year-old Seth exclaimed, his arms wrapped around one leg of each sister.

Dinah laughed, picking up the boy, "only for the weekend. How's school going?" Dinah walked away to continue the conversation in the living room. Lauren walked into the kitchen to find their mom at the stove, working on a snack.

"Hey Mom," Lauren greeted with a kiss on the cheek.

"Hi mija, how was school?" Clara smiled as Lauren immediately began helping by separating the apple slices evenly onto plates.

"It was okay, I aced my business exam," Lauren shrugged.

"Good job! Where's DJ?" Clara asked.

"She's in the living room catching up with the pups," Lauren informed.

"Okay, good," Clara nodded.

"Just to be clear," Lauren began, "tonight is a full moon right? That's why we were wanted at home?"

Clara laughed, "you'd think after all these years you'd know. But yes, it is."

"Sweet," Lauren smiled. Dinah walked into the kitchen and greeted her mom with a kiss on the cheek as well.

"There's my other baby, how was school?" Clara grinned.

"It's okay, I have a test coming up on Monday that I've been studying for, so hopefully all goes well," Dinah shrugged.

"I'm sure everything will," Clara nodded, "now help me get these to the kids, they've been asking for this all week." Dinah and Lauren nodded, grabbing plates and following Clara to the living room.
