MADISON

I've just finished packing my bags, which were far more than I thought. I didn't want to bring everything in my closet as I don't know if this move is permanent. I'm going to try and save every penny I earn so that I can buy my own apartment and support myself instead of living in someone else's house.

I walk down the narrow staircase to the first floor where Mum is waiting for me. It's been three days since Carson and Aaron stayed over for dinner. I would've like more time before leaving, even though my decision was already made by my mother, but I still have a life here.

My friend, Josie, already said goodbye, claiming that she would visit me when she could. My friend Joshua—Josie's brother—as well, and that only left with a few goodbyes from close cousins and aunts and uncles.

"Carson is coming to pick you up, so I'll say goodbye now." Mum says with glistening eyes.

"I'm not sure why you're crying." I say with furrowed brows. "I've already left home to live on my own and you would've kick me out if I stayed any longer with you."

"Don't blame a woman for wanting her privacy" She huffs and embraces me in a tight hug. We hear a loud honk coming out from the front loan and break our little goodbye. Mum grabs my face between her delicate hands and looks deeply at me. "Call me every day, ok? Text, call, send pictures, everything." She embraces me again before placing a soft peck on my forehead. "I love you sweetie."

"Love you too Mum" I smile, now feeling the sadness she is also feeling. "I'll call you tonight. Bye." I embrace her once again and carry my luggage to Carson's car. Mum waves from the threshold and I wave back as it sit in the back of the black car. If you asked me which car I would answer just an expensive one, that's as far as my knowledge of cars go.

"Hi Madison. Ready for San Diego?" Carson smiles from the driver's seat.

"Absolutely" I beam and he starts the car.

We arrive at the airport and I'm quite stunned that we aren't flying in a private jet. Well, Aaron and me, Carson is staying obviously.

"I thought we would be flying in one of those private jets" I say as I survey the inside of the plane. I'm not criticizing or anything their money and ability to buy a private plane, cause I know Carson at least can buy it, but I just saw them as the posh family that would fly on a private plane just to travel to another state.

"This isn't a Wattpad story, darling." Aaron says from his seat. We're in first class, seated diagonally from each other, our seats facing the opposite way. I've flown in first class but it wasn't this...first-y.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight 4B7 with service from Washington to San Diego. We are currently about to take off so we ask that you please fasten your seatbelts and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Thank you for choosing American Airlines. Enjoy your flight."

I fasten my seatbelt and catch a glimpse at Aaron who is pressed to the back of his seat, eyes closed and hands gripping the seat with white-knuckle force. I didn't pet him as the type to be scared of airplanes, especially since he probably travels a lot.

"How's the weather in San Diego?" Aaron's eyes pop open and look at me confused.

"What?"

"How's the weather in San Diego?" I ask again. Confusions stays in his face but he starts telling me and I notice his grip in the arm rests loosens a bit.

We are soon in the air and Aaron seems much calmer than before. And before I know it, I'm fast asleep until we arrive at San Diego.

~~~~~~
My expectations of Aaron's house were pretty big. I'm not gonna lie and say that I didn't imagine how big and expensive his house was. But I didn't remotely think this...wow.
The front of the house is full-on modern, with a few stone accents. I can already see the big ass garage, and may I say, glass garage. Does no one rob in this neighborhood? I do think the fountain is a bit excessive, but well.
"Umm...nice house" I mutter still astonished. Aaron rolls his eyes and sets the alarm off and opens the door to my now home.
I hope.
"You're room is in the second floor, as well as every room and-"
"HOLY FUCK!" I scream as I catch the pool the size of probably my entire house. I look back from the pool to Aaron who look equally scared and confused. "I...Can we go outside?" I say with puppy eyes. Wordlessly, Aaron huffs and opens the never-ending glass door to the patio.
"No way" I look from Aaron to the source of my outburst and back to Aaron. "Is—is that a lake? I think I may actually cry." I say wiping fake tears from under my eyes. "FUCK. And a boat?!"
"I didn't remember you using so many profanities" Aaron comments and I just shrug it off, still looking at the actual boat sitting in the lake in front of me. An actual lake.
I'm starting to think I may sound and look a bit childish now, but who cares? A boat.
"What were you saying before? About the rooms..." I walk back inside the house and take a good look at the enormous open living room and dining room I seemed to have not payed much attention.
"Your bedroom is upstairs. Kitchen over there," he says gesturing to tall and large archway, "gym first floor, you have a private bathroom but there's still two down here and one upstairs." He seems to have finish but says rather dryly, "And you should inform me when you would like to use...the boat."
"Got it." I nod. Aaron helps me get my stuff out of his car and shows me my room, which is not a surprise how nice it is. It isn't anything out of the ordinary, probably a guest room before I arrived. A queen sized bed on the left wall from the door, a sitting area on the right side, and next to it a door communicating to the private bathroom. Finally at the end of the room, a small yet spacious balcony with nothing but a lounge chair.
"Make yourself comfortable. I'm going to the office. First floor, but you don't need to go there." I nod and Aaron starts closing the door but stops mid tracks. "Oh and Madison." He calls. I haven't heard him say my name, since...little. "You start work on Monday, I'll give you the details. I still have to see how you do and decide if I'll keep you so be ready." He says and closes the door and leaves.
I start unpacking my things and storing them away. Monday. That means I have 5 days to get everything ready, not that is much.
I throw myself in my queen sized bed and smell the refreshing fragrance it emits. I think I'm gonna like it here. Let's just hope Aaron makes it easy for me to stay.
