I owe my life to Starseer. He practically raised me, even though he never had parents. That's why I didn't hesitate to join The Talons of Blood, a group of assassins that were banished from their tribes. He is the boss of the whole place. Here's how it works, a customer walks into the den and goes to the back to talk to Shiver, the "Cashier" of the group. Then boss chooses who to send on the mission. We do the mission, bring back evidence that we killed them and badda bing badda boom.
My eyes open quickly and see the warm sun shining on my rough black scales. I get up on four feet and look around. I'm always first to wake up, even before Boss and Watermelon. Although I didn't feel like training, I yawn and walked to the training room. After some chill training I go to the stream outside to get a drink.
Every morning I come to sit at the cliff of the mountain to think about the next mission. I like the nice morning breeze. I had heard something about the Dragonets of Destiny, if that was true we would need to attend Jade Mountain Academy, attending Jade Mountain Academy would mean... socializing with other tribes...
"Hey Shadow," an Icewing called to the nightwing.
"Oh hey Shiver, you woke up earlier than usual," I say as I get up.
"Yeah, I'm trying to get the shop opened up earlier," Shiver replied, "Where ya going?"
"To look at the mission scrolls. I heard that we're going after the Dragonets of Destiny... are we really?" I ask.
"Yeah we are, it's a big job. It's going to be hard to choose who's going to Jade Academy," he answered.
"See you later."
"Okay."
So we have to send someone young, like Watermelon, Sizzle, Mako, me, and Ash. Mako can't really fight, all he does for the group is cook, get information, and be part of the family. Watermelon would probably flip out and attack everyone. Sizzle would definitely hate everyone and refuse to go. Ash, well all we know about Ash is that she is really depressed... yeah It's definitely going to be me.
I look at the sun, squinting and realizing that I should have woken up the others by now. I walk through the door to the sleeping quarters, looking at the dragons' peacefully snooze. I take a deep breath and shout at the top of my lungs, instantly waking up everyone. Half of the dragons groan and get up slowly and stretch, while the other half shoot out of their bed and get up quickly. I walk out the door to Starseer's room.
"Oh hey Shadow!" Boss exclaimed. It seemed that he was reading a few scrolls about something I couldn't read.
"Hey Boss."
"Come on I told you to just call me Starseer," he said, "what troubles you?"
"Well I was going to ask about the next mission, and if it is really the Dragonets of Destiny," I answer.
"Oh yeah! Yes we are doing that. We have to send you two to Jade Academy though," he said as he kept reading the scrolls.
"Wait what? Did you say us two? Me and who?" I asked.
"Yeah you and Mako," he replied calmly.
"WHAT?"
