They were surrounded by armed men and they were being shoot at. Wanda made a shield in front them to protect them from being shot as Bucky slowly but sure made his way up to the men and took them out one by one. It took sometime for him to take out about 10 people down to two, but as he grabbed hold of one of the man, she didn't notice that the other man had found himself behind Wanda, as he swung his fist at her head and knocked her over to the ground in front of her.
"Wanda!" Bucky was screaming at the top of his lung when he saw her. He launched himself forward at her attacker and punched him in the stomach with his metal arm, causing him to fly half way through the room and hit the wall behind him.
The hit wasn't too hard to make her loose her conscious, but it was enough to make her bleed a little. Wanda groaned a bit as she touched her head and her expression became horror when she saw the other man that Bucky was fighting put out his gun and shot him right at his stomach.
"James!!" It was only a split second and she was regaining her power that she couldn't react faster to protect him. But seeing Bucky got down on his knees, she flicked her fingers to the man and made him shot himself in the head.
"James! James! Oh my God! I'm so sorry!" She got up and ran into him and knelt at his side. The tears were running from her eyes.
"I'm so sorry! If I was fast enough, you wouldn't have been shot. Oh God! I'm sorry." He started to sit up and look at her.
"It's not your fault, Wanda." He said with a heavy breath, trying to hold down the pain. She stared back at him and was faced with his smile. Even in this condition, he was still smiling at her, trying to make her not to worry. But her tears were still there and it took a lot of energy for him to bring his hand up to her cheek, to wipe away her tears.
"Please, don't cry." He looked at her deeply. He was used to her beautiful smile, that even a slight sadness in her eyes was the the thing he hated most. She obliged to him as she wiped off the tears from her other cheek, knowing that right then was not the time for crying, but to help him.
"Come on, we have to get you back to the motel and clean it up." She said with a sniffle as she tried to help him up, but he didn't budge.
"Wanda, you know that there is a bigger chance that I'm not gonna make it, right?" He said matter of factly, due to the bleeding he had.
"DON'T YOU DARE TALK LIKE THAT JAMES BUCHANAN BARNES! I'm not gonna let you die right here right now!" She was angry that he thought lightly about his condition. Also, the idea of him leaving her alone in this world, was making her scared to her core. He was taken aback by the sudden outburst. He never saw her this angry. Nonetheless, about his well being. She tried to help him up once more and this time, he moved. She slung his flesh arm to her shoulder that made her felt half of his weight. She saw his metal hand trying to push the wound and suddenly she ripped both of her sweater's sleeves.
"Here, use this." She shoved the material to his metal hand and began to walk toward the motel.

As they got into their motel room, he was starting to loose consciousness.
"James! Please stay with me! Don't close your eyes!" She pleaded with him as she set him down gently on her bed. She brushed his metal arm off of his wound as she took his shirt off. Her face turned pale when she looked at so much blood in his stomach and be reminded of what she needed to do. She had never done this before, but she had no other option. She rummaged their bedroom for anything she would need and she also grabbed the alcohol from the mini bar to sterilized them and her hand. When she got it all, she sat down on the bed beside him as she started the procedure. She slowly took out the bullet from his stomach and he groaned loud at the pain. Then, he hissed as she poured the remaining alcohol on his wound to clean it. His breathing was quick and heavy that alerted her to work quickly and she did so to patch up his wound. When she was finally done, the bleeding was stopped and his breath had come to a slow and steady ones. She sighed in relieve and didn't complain anymore when she noticed that he was starting to close his eyes. She knew that he needed that sleep.
She got up from the bed and went straight to the bathroom to clean herself up from the blood and her own wound. She was in the shower for a good half an hour and then stepped out to dry herself and changed herself into clean clothes. She stepped out of the bathroom and checked him, but he was still asleep.

Bucky woke up to the pain in his stomach and the memory came rushing back to him. He opened his eyes and found out that he made it out alive. He tried to sit up so slowly but the wound was still hurting.
"Wanda?" He called out into the void, searching for the brunette that lately had been occupied his mind. When he didn't got any reply, he stood up and walked to the bathroom and knocked the door.
"Wanda?" He still didn't get any reply and he opened the door to reveal the empty room. He was panicking.
Did they got to her?
But if they did, then why did he still alive?
His mind was running through every possible scenarios erratically, but suddenly stopped when he saw the door handle turned. He was not strong enough to attack anyone, but he still kept himself ready. When the door opened to reveal the dark haired girl with emerald eyes that he had been searching for, a relieved came into him.
"James? What are you doing up?" She asked him confusedly as she looked at him and closed the door behind her. He didn't care much about the pain in his stomach and just walked to her and pulled her into a tight hug. She was surprised at the sudden embraced, but still return the hug slightly.
"I thought you were gone." He spoke near her ear and his deep voice sent chills to her spine. His lack of clothing didn't help her much as she was rested at his bare chest. Her cheeks felt warm and she knew that they had turned red or pink for the least.
"What? Why?" She asked pulling out of the hug.
"Well, I was waking up and you weren't there." He said with a concerned expression on his face and his hands at her shoulders.
"I was out buying these." She smiled to calm him down, as she held up a plastic bag in front of her.
"You must be hungry." She continued as she walked up to their beds with him following her. They sat on his bed, since hers was too messy with the blood stains.
"I'm sorry about that." He said as he motioned his head to her bed.
"Don't worry about it. I'll ask the front desk later for new sheets. But, now, we should really eat." She smiled as she took out the meal in front of her and offered one to him. They were eating in silence and then she helped him disposed the empty boxes to the garbage bin.
"How are you feeling?" She asked him as she sat back to the bed.
"Better." They looked into each other eyes hard, clear blue eyes met emerald ones. There was something in there. Something they had been fought for the last days denying it.
