Clara's pov "Omg novah could you be any slower?" I was already in the beach house while she was still getting her stuff out of the car. "Yes actually I could." She responded sassy. Novah's my cousin and my best friend, & every summer since I can remember, novah my parents & I would always come to the beach house all summer. Just enjoying the sun & relaxing. There's other family's up here too, we have summer neighbours the dolans. I remember when we were younger we would all play together, build sand castles and swim. Grayson & Ethan were always crazy & taking us on adventures. "Okay okay I'm in here now happy?" Novah said taking her stuff to her room. "Yes very!" I said with a big smile on my face. I took my bags to my room and flopped on my bed. "Novah!" "Yeaaaaa?" "We should put on swim suits and go see if the dolans are home!" Then I hear the door go. "Don't you kids want to unpack first." I hear my dad say while laughing. "Dad!" I run out of my room to go see him & give him a hug as dose novah. "Where's mum?" I ask as she walks threw the door. "Right here my love." Novah & I hug her as well. "What do you girls think about a good' ol barbecue tonight?" My dad asks with a grin on his face. "Sounds amazing dad." I kiss him on the cheek & run out the door as novah follows. "Heyyyyyy!" I can hear my mum say laughing. Novah & I head down to the beach and just sit. "I can't believe how good it feels to be here again." I say playing with the sand between my fingers. "Me to." "Yoooooo guys!" We both turn to see Ethan & Grayson running down the beach from their house. Novah & I both sand & give them each a hug. "We were just gonna come looking for you!" I say exited. "Bet you were." Ethan & the smart ass comments. I shove his shoulder and he just laughs and pretends he's hurt. I just roll my eyes. "You guys wanna come to our barbecue tonight?" Novah asks the boys. "Hell yea." Gray just says Ethan agrees & they high five. I lean over to Novah "boys" we both giggle. We always can't wait for the summer to see gray and Ethan. Novah & I go to an all girls private school, it's pretty nice we both like it there. & the boys like to tease us about it. "I was thinking maybe after dinner, we could have a fire here on the beach." Gray suggest. "That sounds awesome Grayson!" I mean it does sound exiting. So obviously I'm gonna agree. All of a sudden I can feel my feet being lifted off the ground. "GRAYSON! Put me down! I'm in clothes!" I yell while he runs with me over his shoulder into the cold ocean water. I screamed but he just ignored me. Then he threw me. I came up for air. "You are an asshole I hope you know that." I say trying to shove his shoulders. I mean didn't do much, him and his huge muscles. I keep trying anyway as I can hear Novah cheering me on and Ethan just laughing. "Are you done yet ?" Gray says laughing. "No." He grabs both my hands and holds them in front of me. Then all of a sudden we're close. And all I can do is look at his gorgeous hazel eyes and they were looking right back at me. "If you guys are gonna start making out, I'm gonna leave!" I can hear ethan yell, gray takes his hands back and turns his face away from me. I turn and see Novah slapping Ethan up side the head. "Um guess we should head back in, get ready for dinner yea?" Gray looks up at me nods and starts walking off. Weird. Back at the house I was drying off while Novah and I started to get ready for dinner. "You notice gray acting weird earlier when we were in the water?" I ask her with a towel on my head looking for an outfit to wear. "I mean yeah but so we're you." I look at her in her with a weird face. "No I wasn't." "Really, so you weren't looking deep into his eyes dreaming of him kissing you and-" I cut her off my throwing my wet head towel at her. "Whatever." I roll my eyes. "Aren't those my sweats?" "Um noooooooooooooo." I mean I don't care I'm just trying to bug her. The only reason why I was looking at Grayson was cause he just got done throwing me in the water annnddddd he was standing right in front of me. "You girls almost ready!" I hear my dad yell from the patio. "Yes!" Novah says jumping up and heading out. I go to the bathroom and throw on a pair of pink tye dye sweats with a grey cropped tank. I just decide to let my hair air dry. I walk out and take a seat and see Grayson and Ethan already sitting out there talking to my parents and Novah. I just go sit down and wait for my food not saying a word. So what if I was looking "into graysons eyes" like Novah said. I mean he's gray, he's always been around and there for me. All we ever do is hangout all summer every summer. Also not like he's hard to look at, especially with that wavy hair and muscle. Wait did I actually just think that? Whatever he's my friend. One day at a time.
