Note from writer: I was struggling to think of something for SUCH a long time, it was ridiculous. But, my boy, Ronald 'Picus' Curtis, has struck me with inspiration. Yes, another Legion lad, how did you know?
I'm having way more difficulties with writing ideas, now. I'm not sure what's happened to me, but changing it from a firm weekly schedule to a loose one of indeterminate length is hopefully helping. Let's see if that translates into higher quality writing.
Now, along the lines of ideas, I have had a few ones for characters that are not within a fandom. Just, my own ones, but I'm not sure how engaging that they'll be, considering I'm one boring lad. We'll see. Input is certainly valued, although I understand fearing, or just plain not wanting to be, engaging with some stranger that makes mediocre-at-best fanfiction that is exceptionally trash in nature. Or, heck, maybe there really is noone. I think I'm okay with that, though. I have them for me to cringe at, and I can pretend that that's all that matters, as I check and re-check how many reads that these shorts have had.

(Y/N) isn't sure what possessed her to tell anyone NCR about her Legion sympathies. It could have cost her her head if they told anyone. She could have been exiled or imprisoned, and those are charitable outcomes. She isn't sure what possessed her to tell an NCR Captain, the head of Bravo Company and decorated officer. Somehow, she's now standing in a little office in Camp McCarran, chit-chatting with this Captain. With Captian Ronald Curtis.
The way that it went down was all rather odd. Something about Caesar's Legion and the NCR's Victory at Hoover Dam was brought up, the tensions brewing again all over the Mojave, the gory tales from across the Colorado River. It was going to be an explosive end, and (Y/N) thought it wise to tip her hand to the Captain. Well, nothing so subtle as tipping her hand, in fact. It was more like announcing her cards to the entire casino. This little 'freelancer' looking for odd jobs in NCR territory, and she might be more at home across the river. Well, in theory.
She remembers those words that came tumbling from her mouth the first time that she met Captain Curtis. "I don't think that the NCR can do it, and I want the Legion to win out. They could keep control and bring order better than NCR could hope to. They don't spread themselves too thinly over too much territory."
She remembers, crystal clear, Curtis' expression. Shock, surprise, but none of the disgust that a lot of NCR soldiers have about the Legion. It looked almost all curiosity. She was expecting, as soon as she realised what she'd admitted, to be shouted and screamed at, to be taken out back and shot, to be chased out and told never to come back. She was expecting anything to happen apart from what did.
She certainly wasn't expecting to be asked more questions about specifics, to be looked in the eye like a human being, especially not by the aloof Captain.
After that, Captain Curtis seemed so much more friendly with her than before. She wasn't sure why. Must be her imagination. Or, maybe it was because he'd know that she'd probably tell him the truth, if for no other reason than she's already given him her most dangerous secret.
After that rather revealing first encounter - revealing on the part of (Y/N), at least - the Captain asked her to come back to see him when she could. That he'd been going stir crazy, having to stay in that Camp, in that office, indefinitely. That he'd appreciate the company, any tales of the goings-on of the Wastes and the Strip would be a boon, too.
Naturally, (Y/N) agreed, even with him not attempting to pressure her. It was as though he would have asked it of her, anyway. It's not a big favour, considering that she'd asked him to keep her admission secret from his superiors. Something that, if found out about, could possibly get him dishonourably discharged. Due to her friendly little promise, she'd started spending more time in the casinos, travelling between the larger settlements more, even noticing what's going on around more. She liked the smile on Captain Curtis' face when she'd have a lot to tell, and she wanted to see it much more often.
