chapter one

tw!! eating disorders. i'll put an extra tw when the story starts talking about it :)

ricky was walking out of the gym when he felt a hand give him a light punch in the arm

"ricky! what's up my man?" ej playfully asked as he came up beside ricky

"hey ej" ricky laughed a little "you seem excited, anything new going on?"

"are you kidding ricky? did you forget that the auditions for romeo and juliet are today?"

ricky sighed as he approached his locker to get his history books

"of course i didn't forget man, but it's the same damn cycle every year. a bunch of random girls come in, miss jenn makes me sit through all of them just for her to pick some girl who's not even good. we need an actual talented female but i'm always stuck with crappy girls who just joined because i'm in it. it's so exhausting."

ej was taken aback by his statement. since he's never got a lead role, he's never had to think of it that way

"well then you're in luck. i heard from that cute cheerleader gina that she convinced one of her friends to audition. i think her name was something like nicole, no wait, it was nicky! wait, that's not it either, i swear it was like natalie or nina- something like that." 

ricky chuckled as him and ej started walking to the locker rooms

"yeah right, she's probably some chick who's mommy is making her do it or something. i bet she's not even that good."

"i guess we'll find out soon"

nini and gina walked out of history class heading to get their books when gina remembered something

"hey!" aren't the auditions for beauty and the beast today?" she asked as a grin spread across her face

"yeah. they're later today in the auditorium" nini replied while gathering her things for the next class

gina noticed the lack of excitement in her voice that there usually is and how uncomfortable she looked

"oh, do you not want to do it anymore? you know they need a female lead neens you can't just decide not to show up, i was literally bragging about you to everybody"

nini rolled her eyes a little as she spoke

"i know that but i'm just nervous. i've never been in a real production before and i don't want to mess this up. plus i don't even want to do this in the first place"

"nini, you know she would have wanted you to do this. that was her biggest passion you have to follow in her footsteps or you'll never-"

she spoke in a small voice, almost a whisper but to where gina could hear "i know this is what she would have wanted." nini dropped her eyes to the floor

"neens i'm sorry i didn't mean to use that i against you i just-"

"yeah thanks gi, it's fine. look, i've gotta get to class. i'll see you at lunch or something" she said and quickly walked off to her next class

tw!! eating disorders

it was finally lunch time. most people's favorite part of the day, but for nini it was hell. she had to sit and watch everyone eat whole meals while she could barely eat a sandwich without forcing herself to throw it up. of course, none of her friends new about her eating disorder. they just thought she enjoyed going to the library or being outside to eat so they never questioned her absence, something nini was grateful for.

she slowly walked up to the lunch line to get her food

"it's okay nini, you can do this. it's just some bread and turkey. you'll be fine"

she tried to tell herself but it didn't work as well as she hoped. as soon as she saw it was her turn she immediately ran out of the cafeteria to find the nearest bathroom

and just her luck, she stumbles into none other than the ricky bowen.

"oh my gosh- um- i am so sorry" she tried forming sentences but it just sounded gibberish.  she looked up from her spot on the floor to see ricky glaring at her

"seriously freak? do you not know how to walk or something?" he spat at her causing her eyes to well up with tears

"i- i truly am sorry. i didn't mean to i just-"

"whatever" he cut her off and quickly left for his next class, leaving her on the floor

"great" she thought to herself, "going for the female lead and you already pissed off the male lead. gosh, can"t you do something right for once?"
