just an fyi i changed the musical to beauty and the beast bc i can't remember the plot of romeo and juliet lmao so i changed it :)

the rest of the school day went by quickly, and nini wasn't very happy about that. after her encounter with ricky bowen, all she wanted to do was crawl in a hole and die out of pure embarrassment

 she walked slowly to the auditorium with her head hung low, thoughts racing through her head

"if you don't get this role you're going to be a disappointment to her"

"you'll never be as good as she was"

"this is why your parents hated you, you're not good enough for anything"

her thoughts were interrupted when her body came in contact with the door

"ouch" she mumbled to herself. it was just a normal thing for her to get lost in her head, beating herself up for every little thing

as she walked in she saw many different faces, all staring at her

"oh nini! good, you're finally here. the auditions started ten minutes ago, where were you?" miss jen questioned

nini froze in her spot out of nerves with everyone staring at her

"i-i- um- i just, uh-"

as she attempted to form a sentence she heard snickers from in the corner, only to look over and see none other than ricky bowen rolling his eyes at her

she cleared her throat "i am so sorry i got caught up helping in the library and i-"

miss jenn cut her off "oh! no worries, you were being an aid so it's totally fine. just please have a seat until your part is called"

nini politely smiled. she couldn't believe her lie actually worked

she quickly went to a seat near the back row, so she could have some privacy to collect herself

she spent a few minutes reading through her script while she waited for her turn. miss jenn turned around to face the group of students behind her

"listen up everybody! so i know most of you haven't gotten the chance to do your individual audition, which we will get to, but for now carlos and i would like to try something. we wanna have you guys do a chemistry read. so basically i will pair up a beast and a belle, to test the chemistry between the two. this'll just help us get a better idea of who to cast before we finish the main auditions."

everyone nodded and gave their full attention as she pulled out notebook of all the names

nini and ricky both silently said a prayer not to be partnered up with one another "so the pairs will be jason and emily, alissa and jackson," nini started mumbling to herself as the names were called, "please don't be ricky, please don't by ricky"

"ej and gina, allie and josh, darcy and noah," she smiled to herself as the list went on "yes i'm not gonna be with ricky!!!" 

"marcus and olivia," her smile began to grow wider out of pure joy as she let out a small laugh

"and lastly we have nini and ricky!"
