Chapter VIII: Everybody has their breaking point

After yelling Kate's name from down the well, she knew it was time to pull them back up to the surface. It was only Tina, Kyle, and Margo who came out. After climbing over, Kate looks down to see where Carson and Jake were. Clearly confused and scared, she turns to the others.

Kate- "Where's Jake?"

Both Kyle and Tina look at Kate as she is in shock.

Tina- "They got him, before I could save him."

Kate- "What about Carson?!"

Kyle- "We don't know where he went."

Kate- "No... No!!!"

She makes a fist and leans against the stone. When she looks down to see the bucket on the ground, she notices there was still water inside. She picks it up asks a question.

Kate- "There was still water?"

Kyle- "Not just any water... It's holy water. Carson, well. He used it to fight back against Nosrac. It turns out these evil spirits are not only afraid of symbols of Christ, but also. They burn when holy water touches them."

Tina- "I wish you could've seen it. There was a big, giant, waterfall, containing holy water. And at the very bottom, was a stream leading into a tunnel. That's where Carson was last seen."

Margo sat in the cart with her arms crossed. She was visibly grumpy and showed no sympathy for the loss of Carson and Jake. Beside her was Sarah.

Sarah- "Hi."

Margo turns her head towards Sarah. She didn't say anything, but she waved at her.

Sarah- "My name is Sarah."

Margo- "I'm Margo."

Sarah- "Where's Carson? I thought he went down to save you."

Margo did not bother answering Sarah's question.

Sarah- "Is he dead?"

Kate, Kyle, and Tina gathered around the well together, wondering if Carson can possibly still be alive. Suddenly, a hand reaches Kyle from behind and grabs his right shoulder.

*Gasps in fear*

He immediately turns around after feeling the hand.

Kyle- "What the hell?!"

Carson- "RELAX! It's just me!"

Everyone sighs in relief when they see Carson from behind. He appeared to be completely soaked.

Kyle- "Wait..."

Kyle looks down the well, then back to Carson.

Kyle- "How'd you get up here?"

Tina- "If we left Carson in the well, then is he even the real Carson?!"

Kyle- "You expect us to fall for that Nosrac?"

Carson- "What?"

Margo gets out of the cart, snatches the bucket of holy water out of Kate's hands and throws it at Carson.

*Splash*

Carson- "What the hell was that for?!"

Kyle- "He's not burning."

Carson- "Of course not, you idiots! I'm not Nosrac!"

Tina- "Carson?! You- you're alive..."

Carson- "Yeah... I know." (Sarcastically)

Tina- "But... But how?!"

Carson- "I let the stream take me."

Kyle- "How did you know you would get out?"
