While Toph was holding on for dear life she heard fire benders coming, If she held on any longer Sokka would be burned alive and resulting in her dying as well. And most likely those cruel assholes to win the war
There had to be another way, A way for them to live, to stay alive, for him to make it
'no matter what' Toph thought while making her descion
If Sokka let go of her hand she could metal bend him to the top of the Blimp and he would survive causing her to take her life Sacrificing it for him. She didn't care losing one life was bad enough she's didn't want the group to Suffer losing more, that's if even if they cared....
"SOKKA" - Toph
"Yeah Toph what is it" - Sokka said in pain
"You need to let me go" - Toph said like it was nothing Shocking Sokka
"WHAT no way Toph, We can make it" - Sokka said in a panic voice
