Kehlani's POV
Today was the last day of my Tsunami tour..I was so tired.."You did good girl", bri said jumping like a kid as we walked to my dressing room with the guards behind us, I made a motion for them to wait outside my dressing room..
"I wish Cara was here to see my last performance" I said pouting..
"You don't have to worry anymore, tour's over soon", bri said.."Yeah,
Can't wait to see Cara, I miss her taste, her seductive eyes.." I said telling my best friend bri who started scrunching her nose in disgust..
"You two are disgusting", she said..We started chatting about how lit the performance was again, until a knock came behind the door.."Come on in", I said knowing who it was, Noodz..;
Noodz was my Dj..She's been working with me for a few years..
During tonight's performance, she was staring at me the whole time which was 'weird' i thought.."I'd like to talk to you in private, if you don't mind Lani"..she said looking at Bri..
She sighed then said; "Okay Okay..I'm goingggg", reluctantly..She always thought that noodz sees me more than a friend..
"So what do you want to discuss that you had to exclude my closest band mate friend", I said in a goofy tone.."Well"..
She said she needed to talk to me, it sounded serious from her reaction so I stood up and gave her my full attention...
"Well.." You look stunning tonight", she said making me smile shyly.."Nice performance as always.." she continued.."Thank you, glad everyone enjoyed it"..
She sighed then said, I've been your DJ for some years now..;"wait are you leaving", I interrupted "No" she said back quickly then continued; "but I think I have to get this off my chest",
I nodded... She cleared her throat, I could see where this is going but I waited for her to talk...
Noodz voice trembled.."Lani, from the moment I started working with you, I knew you were special. Your passion, creativity, and kindness drew me in..Tonight, watching you shine on stage, I couldn't keep it inside anymore."
She took a deep breath.."I've fallen deeply in love with you..Your beauty, talent, and heart captivate me..
I was taken aback by her wonderful words.."I know this is crazy but you've got a pretty face shawty"..She stated again..I was lost in my thoughts..
"Pls say something", she said..until a knock drew me out of my thoughts.."Did i miss something"; I heard a british accent behind me..
I turned to see Cara, my girlfriend standing in the doorway with a confused expression and a flower in her hand.."No Baby", I hastily reassured, trying to diffuse the tension..
"Noodz was just leaving, right Noodz?", I asked..
Noodz nodded, her eyes still locked on mine, filled with a mix of hurt and longing. "Yeah, I was just congratulating Lani on an amazing show," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Cara's gaze shifted between us, her expression skeptical.
"Everything okay?" she asked, her British accent thick with concern. I forced a smile, trying to downplay the awkwardness.
"Everything's fine, love. Just wrapping up the tour excitement.
Noodz turned to leave, but not before casting one last glance my way, her eyes burning with unspoken emotions.
As the door closed behind Noodz, Cara approached me, flower still in hand. "You were amazing tonight," she said, her voice softening.
I took the flower, inhaling its sweet fragrance, grateful for the distraction. "Thanks, baby. I'm just glad it's over."
"Lani, I know you," Cara said, her voice laced with concern. "Something's bothering you. Was it something Noodz said?"
I sighed, unsure how much to reveal. "It's just tour exhaustion, baby. I'm fine."
Cara's gaze lingered, searching for reassurance. "You'd tell me if something was wrong, wouldn't you?"
I nodded, forcing a smile. "Of course, love. Now, let's celebrate the end of the tour. Champagne?"
Cara's expression softened, but her eyes still held a hint of skepticism.
As we popped the champagne cork and sipped, my mind wandered to Noodz's confession. Guilt gnawed at me, knowing I'd hurt her.
***********
Later, in the hotel room, Cara snuggled close. "I missed you so much during this tour."
I wrapped my arms around her, feeling a mix of love and unease. "I missed you too, baby."
But Noodz's words still echoed in my mind: "I think I'm in love with you..."
As I held Cara close, my mind began to wander. Noodz's confession had stirred up emotions I couldn't ignore. I felt torn between loyalty to Cara and a newfound awareness of Noodz.
Cara's soft voice broke the silence. "Hey, you're distant tonight. Everything okay?"
I forced a smile. "Just tired, baby. Long tour."
Cara's eyes narrowed slightly. "You're not still stressed about the label, are you?"
"No, no, it's fine," I reassured.
But Cara's concern lingered. "Lani, I know you. Something's bothering you."
I took a deep breath, hesitant to reveal the truth.
Just then, my phone buzzed on the nightstand. Noodz's name flashed on the screen.
Cara raised an eyebrow. "You going to answer that?"
'My heart skipped a beat. Should I?'
I silenced the phone and pulled Cara closer. "Where were we?" I asked, trying to distract myself from Noodz's call.
Cara's eyes narrowed slightly, but she let it go. "We were celebrating the end of the tour," she said, smiling.
We lost ourselves in the moment, the tension temporarily forgotten. But Noodz's call lingered in my mind.
Later, as we drifted off to sleep, my phone buzzed again. I knew Noodz's message would be waiting for me in the morning..
