Finally, all the first years had been sorted. Your stomach was making sounds like a whale. Dumbledore said he had something important after the feast to tell everyone, and you wondered what it was. You were seated at the Hufflepuff table next to your friends Liv and Jamie. You all discussed what it could be, as well as how everyone's summer went. As soon as you brought up Nate, Liv and Jamie got quiet.
"What are you hiding from me?"
You ask as you glare at the two girls.
"Nothing."
They both said in unison. Liv changes the subject to Jamie's new crush, Lee. You gag as the two girls talk about it. The feast had at last come to an end. Dumbledore stood up and the Great Hall got quiet.
"I have some exciting news to share with you all. After great consideration by myself and the ministry, we have decided to hold the Triwizard Tournament."
The Great Hall exploded into commotion. You had read about the tournament. It had been banned because the death toll was too high. You nervously looked at the twins and you saw excitement all over their faces. Dumbledore waited for everyone to quiet down.
"As I was saying, Hogwarts will host the Triwizard Tournament. We will be joined by some students from two other schools on Friday of this week. You must be over the age of 17 to enter the competition."
The Great Hall erupted. You could hear the twins and Lee yell together.
"That's rubbish!"
You smiled at their outburst. Dumbledore tried to regain control over the students.
"Quiet!"
Dumbledore's voice boomed over the hall. The Hall fell incredibly quiet.
"We have decided this as a safety precaution. This is a large task to undertake. By entering your name, you have signed a contract."
Everyone stayed silent. Dumbledore continued talking about the tournament and how to enter. Your thoughts wandered as you thought about the ordeal with Nate. You hadn't noticed Dumbledore dismiss everyone. You stand up and walk towards the door and meet up with the golden trio. Hermione was on a rant about how dangerous it is. You were wrapped up in your thoughts by the time you reached the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room. You bid your friends goodnight and head into the common room. You sit by the fire and read your favorite muggle book. You look at the clock and see it's almost one am. You quickly gather your things and head up to your dorm.
"This is gonna be one long week."
You mumbled.
