A FATHER'S LOVE

Remember the day when you first held me in your arm
The leap of blood felt so warm
With you by my side, I avoided harm
For your unending love, I swarm

Indeed, the best man of my life
Seeing you struggles felt like being stabbed by a sharp knife
Knowing that it was unbearable
Hence, the span of our life is uncontrollable

When there's night, there's day

When it's dark, I hope light will find its wayWhen there's sunset, time will come for sunshineWhen there's no hope, I know its never gonna be fine

How I wish there's more than laugh than tears
Losing you will be my biggest fear
For you, who raised me with your blood and sweat
I will be forever grateful of having you, I swear

Hoping your last minute and hour will be spent worthwhile
I know, someday you'll be watching me from a mile
Your advice and jokes in my heart I pile
For you, my Father, for the great memories we compile

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

This poem was originally created by me. It was dedicated to my late most loving Father FSS (just his initials). I wrote three stanzas year ago but I added two more today. This was composed last July 26, 2021 and my father died July 30, 2021. Published in Wattpad on October 27, 2022.
