Nagito's pov

As soon as I stepped foot into this school I felt someone near me almost the entire time yet no one was ever around. I decided it was me going even crazier than I already am. Then we had something more important to worry about, A killing game.

Later we were introduced to rooms for ourselves, I looked around mine before deciding it was time to go to bed, it was already late so the others probably were in bed too.

"Nagito?" A female voice said, it didn't sound like any of the others here. "Hello? Who's there?" I then realized that I was most likely sleeping. "Hiya, I'm y/n the super high school level (talent). Its nice to finally know you can see me."  She walked towards me carefully as she spoke. "Uh, hello. What's happening?" I just wanted to get to the point and must have come off as rude. "Well, that's not the greeting I expected but I'll take it. As you probably noticed, you're asleep. Ah, kinda, technically asleep." She seemed to be looking for the proper way to tell me something. "Technically? Alright"
"Now, I'm going to tell you this, I am real and waiting. Just waiting for your time." That gave me more questions than answers..

"Wait, for my time? What do you mean?"

....."I can't really tell you, but stay alive as long as you can, please." As time went on we talked about basically anything.
"So you're dead?" I questioned,
"Yep. It's odd but you'll get use to it." She smiled, it was a very hopeful smile.
"Wake up now." Her smile faded and her voice was serious. Before I could question her I indeed woke up. 'That was odd' I though to myself as I got up and ready for the day.

A few days went by, I wanted to start this killing games so everyone can get though the despair of death. That was why I was in this old abandoned building cleaning it and setting up my plan. I must have alerted Teruteru because soon enough he had seen and heard everything I was planning. That was when my plan started to slightly backfire, of course it did indeed start the killing games but not the way I completely planned.

"What are you doing Nagito? You're not going to kill someone right?"  A female voice spoke in my head, 'Possibly..'  I thought.
"*sigh* And why are you doing that?'  She once again questioned. 'Because I want to be the stepping stone of hope, I want all my friends to break though the despair of death using hope!'

"That's ridiculous, most of the time despair makes more despair and hope can create despair itself. Ugh, fine but don't be surprised if you get pushed to the ground trying."

Little did I know that is what literally happened.

"Let me guess, this isnt what you expected,  correct?" Her voice rang in my head, she wasn't wrong but it still started everything.

Another time skip.

Y/n pov

I couldn't look away, how could I look away? He promised he would stay alive for me, he promised, he lied to me. Anger was bubbling up, it was a mix of anger and pain. Anger and despair.  During the trial I let my anger slowly disappear. I didn't want to yell at Nagito when he gets here.

Later I was waiting once again, the area was like a park, not a kid's park though. 'I cannot believe it's taking him so long to get here.'

"Long time no see, huh?" My eyes lit up, forgetting how he died and the pain it caused me. "Nagito! You're here!" I ran over to him, pulling him into a hug. "Of course I am, you said you were waiting for me. It would be rude to keep someone like you waiting." His smile, my goodness it's so cute.

Besides the way he rants about hope he was an amazing guy. Yeah he was crazy most the time he was there but now, now he was his normal self. He was the person I cared so much about and loved. As a friend and maybe more. Who knows? I'm plan on letting time put the pieces together with me, to make the perfect picture.

This wasn't a request but I had this idea and went with it. Hope whoever reads this likes it. I plan on getting some comfort characters out with a story. So stay tuned. :)
